“The Eastern NIL Exchange” – EMU’s Fee-Free Solution For Student-Athletes To Monetize Their Brands

Eastern Michigan University’s Department of Athletics, in collaboration with Teamworks Influencer, announced the launch of “The Eastern NIL Exchange,” a custom-designed platform aimed at connecting local and national businesses with EMU student-athletes for Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities.

The platform is free for both student-athletes and businesses. Registered companies can access a searchable database of student-athletes and filter through various criteria. Businesses can directly message student-athletes within the application or request contact information to initiate discussions about potential NIL transactions.

“The launch of the Eastern NIL Exchange will empower student-athletes to monetize their brands with NIL partnerships on a fee-free platform,” said Sean Kelly, General Manager of Teamworks Influencer, an athlete brand-building and NIL business management app.

Through the Eastern NIL Exchange, EMU student-athletes can establish business connections, easily perform payments, consolidate tax information, and separate their University tasks from their pursuit of NIL opportunities. The platform provides educational resources on NIL issues and tracks social media engagement and growth.

EMU Vice President and Director of Athletics Scott Wetherbee emphasized the University’s commitment to empowering student-athletes and offering them resources to harness their personal brand potential through this innovative platform.
