PlayStation NBA Creator Cup Returns To Las Vegas In July With Star-Studded Roster

The PlayStation NBA Creator Cup is set to return to Las Vegas for its fourth edition on July 9, 2025, bringing together some of the most influential names in basketball and gaming content. The event will be held at The Pavilion at UNLV with live coverage available on YouTube and the NBA App.

The Creator Cup is part of the NBA’s expanded creator program for the 2024-25 season, which has already generated 650 million video views across NBA digital channels. The league is positioning creators as “a key part of the NBA’s content ecosystem,” according to Bob Carney, NBA SVP of Social and Digital Content.

Star-Studded Lineup

According to the announcement, this year’s lineup features creators with a combined social following of over 150 million. The roster includes gaming icon SypherPK, who has generated more than 5 billion views across YouTube and Twitch, and D’Aydrian Harding, a comedic content creator with over 16 million followers.

Basketball talent is well-represented by former college players and professional athletes, including Carson Roney (Shawnee State University), Kris London (Oral Roberts and Newman University), and Chris Staples, a former Harlem Globetrotter known for inspiring NBA stars such as Dwight Howard.

The broadcast team will feature Jesser, Faze Rug, and Strictly Bball’s Joe Doerrer calling the action with their signature blend of basketball insight and entertainment.

Last year’s competition saw Team Professor edge out Team Lethal in a 78-77 thriller at T-Mobile Arena. Cam Wilder led scoring with 24 points, while Trey Phillis added 16 points and hit the game-winning shot with 6.4 seconds remaining to earn MVP honors.

Creator-Driven Sports Coverage Trend

This event represents a growing trend in sports media where traditional outlets and creator content increasingly complement each other. As YPK Raye, a Las Vegas native and two-time PlayStation NBA Creator Cup participant, noted, “This event has become one of the highlights of my summer. The competition is absolutely incredible, which pushes all of us to elevate our game.”

The Creator Cup series includes three events: the Emirates NBA Cup in Las Vegas, the NBA All-Star in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, reflecting the league’s commitment to leveraging influencers to reach new audiences through content partnerships.
