Mark Rober’s Netflix Kids Competition Series ‘SCHOOLED!’ Opens Casting
Netflix has announced casting is now open for “SCHOOLED!”, a new kids and family competition series featuring engineer and content creator Mark Rober. The show will take place inside a gamified laboratory, where teams of young contestants compete in science experiments that escalate in scale across rounds.
“SCHOOLED!” will be produced by Rober’s company, CrunchLabs, in partnership with Kimmelot, the production company of Jimmy Kimmel, who will also executive produce. Rober and CrunchLabs Chief Content Officer Scott Lewers will executive produce alongside Kimmel and Kimmelot President Scott Lonker.
John Derderian, Netflix’s VP of Animation Series, Kids & Family TV, described the series as a co-viewing opportunity targeting families. “Mark Rober is a master of the ‘wow’ moment, and we’ve seen firsthand how much our members love his unique brand of science-fueled spectacle,” Derderian said in the announcement. “It isn’t just a competition; it’s a celebration of creativity and engineering.”
“SCHOOLED!” joins Rober’s existing Netflix catalog, which includes “Mark Rober’s CrunchLabs,” the “Elmo and Mark Rober’s Merry Giftmas” special, and “Skyscraper Live.”
Rober commands around 73 million subscribers on YouTube and operates CrunchLabs, which produces STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subscription boxes for children. Netflix first announced a multi-project content partnership with Rober in August 2025.
“Our series is about giving kids a stage big enough for their ideas,” Rober said in a statement. “This will be the ultimate playground for science, creativity, and competition to come together.”
Casting for “SCHOOLED!” is currently open. A premiere date has not been announced.
