Linktree vs. Link Pop — Feature comparison for creators and influencers

Which link-in-bio tool is best for content creators?

There are many different services on the market today that will help you create this link. Today, we will be talking about two alternatives, Linktree and Link Pop.

One of your most popular phrases as an influencer is probably, “Check out the link in my bio.” This is where you redirect your followers to the rest of your online brand and presence, so it is vital that the link is memorable and stands out amongst the crowd.

Back in the day, you used to have to change your link each time you had a new blog post, podcast episode, or Youtube video you wanted to promote. But these days, you can create a customized landing page instead, so that you never have to change that link  out again.

A landing page is a single web page designed with one specific task in mind.

In this case, the task is to redirect your followers to your website, blog, or anywhere else you want.

Linktree

Linktree is the earliest of the link-in-bio services, and by far the most popular. Founded in 2016, the site now has over 30 million users, from mega celebrities like Selena Gomez, to everyday influencers and social media users.

How does it work?

Linktree is an easy-to-use platform that allows anyone to create a landing page in just a few minutes, no design skills needed.

Once you’ve created your account, you can get to work designing your page.

You can add unlimited links to your page and connect directly with apps such as Twitter, TikTok, and Facebook.

You can even add a link to your own portfolio or website, create a header, and add a bio.

If you want, you can add a template or a design to show off your creative side. Below are some templates you can choose from.

Once you’ve picked your template and added your links, your site can go live. On the free version, you can see limited analytics such as total clicks and views, as well as click-through-rate. Below is an example of what your analytics could look like.

Your final Linktree link could look something like this, from twin influencers Brooklyn and Bailey McKnight.

They have gone simple with limited links, as well as a plain background, though with advanced subscriptions you can animate links and upload media.

This is a clean, creative way to show off your most important links, as well as lead followers to your website.

How much will this cost?

You can continue to use Linktree for free without ever having to upgrade. But for more advanced features, like access to deeper analytics, you can choose between 3 pricing tiers.

The first plan starts at $5 USD a month. You can spotlight and schedule links with this plan, as well as gain access to analytics from the past 90 days, whereas with the free plan, you can only see analytics for up to 30 days.

The second tier is $9 USD a month and is the most popular plan. This gives you access to all the extra templates and designs, as well as advanced analytics, such as location of your clicks and what device they’re using. If you choose to connect to apps such as Paypal, Square, or Spring, you can even gain access to ecommerce analytics that can help you track your conversion rate, connect to Amazon’s affiliate link program, and even remove Linktree’s branding.

The final tier is $24 USD a month, and mostly aimed at larger businesses. You will receive a dedicated support manager, as well as promised support in 4 hours or less and access to exclusive features that the other members will not receive.

For a more detailed list of all the features between the pricing plans, you can visit their pricing page here.

Link Pop by Shopify

Link Pop was created by the popular commerce app Shopify. You can directly sell products with this link-in-bio tool, which allows both creators and consumers the ability to safely trust that the transition will happen smoothly and is protected under the number one most trusted e-commerce site in the world.

Some major influencers and brands use Link Pop, such as the creator of Brick Science, and the health brand Blume.

How does Link Pop work?

Once you’ve created an account, by linking your Facebook, Google, or personal email account, you can get to work with designing your page.

Your starting dashboard will look like this.

You can see how your page will look on a mobile device, upload a profile photo, have a name, and a bio.

Once you do that, you can start on the fun part. You can easily add products directly from your online store if you have a shop with Shopify, or add media and links to other social profiles.

Connecting your Shopify store is easy, and can be done in a few steps. If you don’t have a Shopify store, you can create one by signing up for their paid plan, but that isn’t necessary if you don’t want to create a storefront with them.

You can even add affiliate product links so that you can earn money through other ways, not just through the store.

You can change up the color and font, as well as add a background photo as well.

You will also be able to see analytics such as visits, clicks, and clicks per visit, once your site goes live.

Here’s an example of what your final Link Pop could look like, from the popular brand Blume.

As you can see, they have other links, such as the ability to link to TikTok or Facebook, but they have also highlighted their products and made it easy for consumers to purchase these products. They have also included coupon deals and sales, such as give $10, receive $10.

How much does a Shopify account cost?

If you want the ability to link your online store, you will have to create a Shopify store.

The lowest plan starts at $5 USD a month after a 3 day trial. This is the starter plan, which could be perfect for you if you are new to online stores or aren’t sure which plan to go with.

Shopify takes 5% of all transaction fees you do not use Shopify payments, and allows you to have just one user on the account.

You could also switch to the basic plan, which is $24 USD a month. This allows you to have up to 2 users on the account, and 2% transition fees for 3rd party payments.

For more advanced plans, you can visit Shopify’s pricing page.

All plans include the ability to sell unlimited products, 24/7 support, a fast and reliable checkout in 133 countries, and more.

So, which one is the best fit for you?

If you are already using Shopify’s services, connecting to their link-in-bio service would be a great next step. If you’re thinking of using their services, this could be a fun way to check out if they are the store platform for you, and create a good link in bio while you’re at it. But for a more simple link-in-bio tool if you have your own online shop, Linktree may be your best bet.
