LeBron James Launches YouTube Channel Dedicated to Golf

LeBron James has launched a YouTube channel centered on golf, with the first episode chronicling a reunion trip to Scotland with his 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers championship teammates.

The channel, launched on YouTube on August 15, will document James’s pursuit of the sport as a fan and student of the game, following him and his circle to courses around the world, according to an official blog post. New episodes are scheduled to drop monthly on Saturdays.

The debut episode marks the 10-year anniversary of the Cavaliers’ 2016 NBA championship comeback. James traveled to Castle Stuart Links at the Cabot Highlands Resort in Scotland with former teammates Kevin Love, J.R. Smith, Richard Jefferson, Tristan Thompson and Channing Frye, playing a 3-on-3 golf match. Kyrie Irving did not appear in the episode. The video runs 90 minutes, longer than the short-form clips that dominate most creator content on the platform.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about the launch, James said he was looking forward to sharing the trip with fans. “I’m looking forward to people seeing this first episode, which was the trip of a lifetime with my teammates,” he said. “We got to play golf and catch up in some of the most beautiful settings I’ve ever been in.” He added that the channel would let him bring viewers along as he learns the sport: “It’s been a lot of fun out on the course, learning and loving all the nuances of the game, and I’m excited about bringing everyone along with me on this journey through my channel.”

The channel had already surpassed 500,000 subscribers as of August 19.

The launch comes during an active offseason for James, who left the Los Angeles Lakers and signed with the Philadelphia 76ers last month after a period of free agency. The golf channel gives him a second, non-basketball media presence to run alongside that transition, built around long-form, personality-driven content rather than game highlights or sponsored posts.

The format also places James in a growing lane of athlete-hosted golf content on YouTube, a genre that has drawn both professional and celebrity golfers looking to build audiences outside traditional broadcast deals.
