How YouTube Sensations Brought Universal Appeal To Smoothie King’s New Limited Edition Drink

Smoothie King has partnered with the YouTube entertainment group Dude Perfect to launch a new, limited-edition “Dude Perfect Smoothie” nationwide. The collaboration aims to blend excitement, nutrition, and fun by appealing to Dude Perfect’s massive fanbase as well as Smoothie King’s health-conscious customers.

According to the company’s announcement, the new smoothie features a first for the smoothie brand – the nutrient-dense superfood blue spirulina. It contains a power-packed blend of pineapples, bananas, kiwi apple juice blend, protein blend, vanilla frozen yogurt, turbinado, and blue spirulina. 

These ingredients deliver 14 grams of protein, antioxidants, and omega-3 fatty acids while adhering to Smoothie King’s strict “No No List” that bars over 75 ingredients.

“Finding the common ground between parents and kids can be a challenge and Dude Perfect’s universal appeal is something everyone can enjoy,” said Marianne Radley, Smoothie King’s Chief Marketing Officer. “It’s in this spirit that we set out to launch a delicious smoothie that both parents and kids can agree on.”

The five members of Dude Perfect – Tyler Toney, Cory Cotton, Coby Cotton, Cody Jones, and Garrett Hilbert – joined Smoothie King’s R&D team in Dallas for a smoothie-making competition. Only one Dude’s creation was selected as the limited-time offering.

“Smoothie King has always been a go-to spot for us,” said Coby Cotton. “So having the opportunity to create the Dude Perfect Smoothie is a dream come true for us. We’re all about having fun, being competitive, and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.”

Dude Perfect was among the first to create “sports adjacency” content, combining athletics with comedy, and has amassed 60 million YouTube subscribers and nearly 16 billion views since launching in 2009 as college roommates at Texas A&M. Now headquartered in Frisco, Texas, their following totals over 100 million across platforms.

The limited-edition Dude Perfect Smoothie is available nationwide. It launched on March 11 exclusively for Smoothie King’s Healthy Rewards members and on March 12 for the general public on March 12 through the company’s new app and in-store. Collector’s cups and exclusive merchandise went along with the smoothie release.

A campaign video features Dude Perfect behind-the-scenes at Smoothie King blending their creation. The promotion includes a sweepstakes with over 20,000 prizes from March 12 through May 31, where one grand prize winner receives $10,000 and a day with Dude Perfect at their headquarters.

The collaboration allows Smoothie King to tap into Dude Perfect’s broad, family-friendly audience as it launches a new smoothie blending beloved favorites like pineapple and banana with the latest superfood blue spirulina. At the same time, it provides Dude Perfect’s fans with a healthy product developed by the entertainment group.
