Shop The Show: How Pinterest’s New Series Blends Content And Commerce

Pinterest has launched its first-ever streaming show titled “Deliciously Entertaining.” The 10-episode cooking and lifestyle series is developed and produced in partnership with media company Tastemade, the company announced.

Hosted by cookbook author and influencer Danni Rose, each 22-minute episode features celebrity guests like Lance Bass, Trixie Mattel, Terrell Grice, Maurice Harris, and top Pinterest creator Joy Cho. The series draws inspiration from Pinterest trends to plan menus, create decor, and bring gatherings like brunches, BBQs, game nights, and dinner parties to life.

“Pinterest is all about finding inspiration to then take action,” states Nadine Zylstra, Global Head of Programming and Originals. “The concept is entirely inspired by Pinterest trends and the calendar moments that matter most to Pinners. We hope it will inspire people to try something new.”

The series airs on Tastemade’s streaming channel with an interactive, shoppable experience on Pinterest. Viewers can scan QR codes during episodes to access Pinterest boards housing recipes, DIY tutorials, and shoppable Pins to recreate elements at home.

“We’re bringing together the best of our platforms to inspire food and design lovers to cook, create, gather and try new things,” says Jay Holzer, Tastemade’s Head of Programming. “In Deliciously Entertaining, we are bringing together the best of both of our platforms to help food and design lovers find inspiration; to cook, create, gather and try something new.”

To promote the June 21 season finale, the show debuts on Amazon Live for a “shop the show” companion episode hosted by Danni Rose.

The partnership expands Pinterest’s investment in original programming. In June 2022, the company announced a multi-million dollar deal with Tastemade to scale creators, shows, and live streaming. Recent content collaborations include the White House holiday decor, a Chanel exhibition, and Rolling Stone’s music archives.

The show exemplifies Pinterest’s strategy of converting inspiration into action through shoppable content. By partnering with established creators and incorporating an e-commerce experience, Pinterest enters the streaming race with an innovative interactive series for its community.
