Meta Caters To Creator Economy By Rewarding Diverse Facebook Content With Performance Bonus

Meta is stepping up efforts to enhance its creator economy outfit on Facebook by expanding monetization opportunities and removing limits on earnings from its Performance Bonus program. The social media giant has announced several updates aimed at rewarding creators for engaging content across multiple formats.

Starting in mid-March, Meta plans to roll out uncapped monthly payouts for most creators eligible for the Performance Bonus. Previously, there were restrictions on the maximum amount creators could earn each month from the bonus, which pays for engaging photo, text, and video posts. With the new change, there is no ceiling on potential earnings.

“Creators can earn unlimited monthly payouts,” Meta has announced, adding that the “sky’s the limit” when it comes to monetizing content that entices audiences.

The updates reflect Meta’s understanding of the diverse ways creators express themselves and connect with followers on the platform. In addition to video content through Reels and Live, the company is supporting the monetization of photos and text-based posts via the Performance Bonus.

To open up more monetization avenues, Meta is expanding eligibility for the Performance Bonus program beyond its current markets consisting of the United States, Canada, Australia, Britain, India, and Mexico. Select creators in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia may now receive invites, with more countries planned.

Meta is also transitioning some In-Stream Ads creators to the Performance Bonus and its short-form video monetization program Ads on Reels. Invitations will go out through the Facebook app, Meta Business Suite, and Professional Dashboard.

The social media titan continues its shift toward performance-based payouts across monetization offerings like Ads on Reels and In-Stream Ads. This model aims to better incentivize high-quality content by tying earnings more directly to audience engagement metrics.

New insights in the In-Stream Ads tool will provide creators with better optimization analytics for the performance-based payout system as the transition continues in the weeks and months ahead.

Through these moves and meticulous strategy, Meta is doubling down on a growing ecosystem where creators can monetize a wide range of content types and formats by incentivizing engaging posts.
