BBC Studios Taps Audio Network Ozen.fm to Sell Podcast Ads Across Latin America

BBC Studios has appointed Ozen.fm as its exclusive local advertising sales representative for its podcast inventory across Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Argentina.

Under the agreement, Ozen.fm becomes the sole third-party seller of BBC Studios’ podcast advertising inventory in the five markets, combining the BBC’s audio catalog with Ozen.fm’s digital audio sales and monetization operations in the region. The deal covers more than 500 current and archive titles spanning news, current affairs, culture, history, education, science, business and entertainment, including Portuguese-language programs for Brazilian audiences such as “Que História!,” “BBC Lê,” “BBC Investiga” and “As Estranhas Origens das Guerras Culturais,” alongside globally recognized titles including “Global News Podcast,” “6 Minute English,” “The Global Story” and “The Documentary Podcast.”

“Latin America is an important growth market for BBC podcasts, and we are committed to expanding opportunities for advertisers to connect with our engaged audiences across the region,” said Alanna Vaughns, Senior Commercial Lead at BBC Studios Audio, in a press release. “Ozen.fm’s expertise in digital audio, strong agency relationships and deep understanding of local markets make them an ideal partner to represent BBC Studios as we continue to grow the commercial reach of our podcast portfolio.”

Ozen.fm will handle the full campaign process, including planning, contracting, dynamic ad insertion and performance reporting. All advertising sold under the agreement will follow the BBC’s editorial policies and advertising guidelines.

“The BBC has always had a close relationship with audiences across Latin America. We now want to build that same connection with the region’s advertising market,” said Rodrigo Tigre, President and co-founder of Ozen.fm. “BBC podcasts will complement Ozen.fm’s local network, creating new opportunities for brands and agencies looking to reach engaged audiences across different contexts and markets. Our role goes beyond simply making inventory available: we will help advertisers navigate an extraordinarily diverse catalogue and identify the content that provides the most relevant environment for their message.”

Beyond advertising sales, the two companies plan to collaborate on market intelligence initiatives and case studies aimed at connecting brands, agencies and the region’s podcast ecosystem.

BBC Studios generated revenues of £2.1 billion last year and profits of over £200 million for a fifth consecutive year, according to the company. BBC Studios Audio produced more than 600 hours of content in the past year. Ozen.fm operates in Brazil, Latin America, the United States and Europe, connecting advertisers with podcasts and streaming radio stations with a focus on multicultural and multilingual content.
