Video Editor

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Video Editor role based in Qesm El Sheikh Zaid. The role is primarily focused on video editing, working as part of a news, lifestyle, and business media organization. The team is responsible for producing quality fast news content for streaming platforms, shows, and social media channels. The Video Editor will support the Videographer & Producer in their duties and be responsible for designing images and assets for Augustus's portfolio of clients and brands

Responsibilities

Video Editing & Technical

• Edit videos to targeted lengths and platform-specific specifications.
• Organize and manage raw footage and edited video files.
• Export videos in the required formats for mobile and web distribution.
• Modify formats and file sizes for different platforms as needed.
• Color grade footage to ensure visual consistency and elevate production quality.
• Troubleshoot and enhance footage by correcting lighting, color, and overall quality.
• Balance and fix sound, ensuring a seamless mix between music and sound effects.

Motion Graphics & Visual Effects

• Design and animate motion graphic assets for various content needs.
• Add dynamic visual effects and custom visual transitions across different styles and vibes.
• Ability to implement trendy and advanced visual effects, including:
• Speed ramping
• Masking and rotoscoping
• Motion tracking

Content & Production Support

• Shoot and produce content when necessary.
• Explore multiple edit directions and pitch creative ideas.
• Ensure compliance with the highest journalistic and creative standards.
• Collaborate closely with Directors to ensure the final product reflects the intended vision.
• Work on assets for Lovin Dubai and Lovin Saudi online channels.
• Create assets for Augustus clients (either direct or for our media publications) and for Augustus’s own company and new media brands.
• Support creative brainstorming sessions.
• Assist with production of artwork and test and learn across all platforms.
• Support the Head of Content.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in video editing ideally within digital media, lifestyle, or social‑first brands.
• Deep proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, with strong knowledge of modern social editing techniques.
• Skilled in studio and on‑location filming, managing lighting, framing, and sound for short-form video.
• Proven experience leading video projects from ideation to publishing.
• Understanding of brand tone, narrative structure, and editorial integration.
• Strong eye for visual composition, pacing, and creative rhythm matching audience trends.
• Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is a strong advantage.
