Online Vacation Center

Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United StatesSalary: $75,000 - $90,000Posted: Aug 11Category: Social Media & ContentCompany type: BrandApply route: Via LinkedIn
Apply at Online Vacation Center

The role

You will own ONVC’s social presence on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn: the calendar, the scripts, the filming, the editing, the posting. You will also keep offers and content current on onvc.com in our CMS.

Those are two workstreams on two different clocks. Social moves daily and runs on hooks, faces, and personality. The website moves with product and promotions and runs on accuracy. Some of what you shoot and write carries over to the blog. The rest does not.

South Florida is half of why this job works. Port Everglades and Port Miami are both a short drive, ships are in port most weeks, and you will be on board for inspections and turnaround-day filming: cabin and suite walkthroughs, dining rooms, spa, pool decks. On top of that, 4 to 6 trips a year further out for sailings, ship launches, fam trips, and land tours.

Between visits you build the weekly output from your desk. Reels that answer what travelers keep asking us: how to pick a cabin on a ship you have never seen, what all-inclusive covers, whether the balcony is worth the upcharge, why the same sailing costs $900 in September and $1,600 in July. You will pull from your own footage, our advisors, and supplier asset libraries, and you will use AI tools to move faster.

We want the person who shoots it, writes it, hosts it, and posts it. Not someone to schedule other people’s content.

What you will own

Organic social. Every organic channel, calendar through publishing. You build the plan, write the hooks and captions, cut the video, and track how each platform is performing this month. Facebook and Instagram carry the cruise audience, YouTube carries the long-form ship content, LinkedIn carries our credibility with suppliers and the trade. Target cadence is [4 to 6 posts per week across channels].

Field production. Local ship visits plus 4 to 6 trips a year, so each one must pay for itself several times over. You travel light and shoot fast, usually alone, usually on an iPhone with a gimbal and a mic. You will film a full cabin walkthrough in the ten minutes the ship gives you and come home with enough usable footage to feed the calendar for a month.

ONVC.com. Our offers pages are where traffic turns into revenue. You keep them current in the CMS: swapping imagery that is not performing, updating offer copy as product changes, building pages for a promotion, retiring pages for sailings that have closed. You work with product and marketing every week on what goes up and what comes down.

Writing. Blog posts that answer what travelers search for, and LinkedIn pieces on where cruise and luxury travel are going. You are writing to be read, not to hit a word count.

What you need

  • You live in South Florida now. This role is hybrid out of Fort Lauderdale with regular port visits, so we are not considering candidates who would need to relocate.
  • 4 to 7 years producing content for a brand, an agency, a publisher, or your own channel. Follower count matters less to us than whether the work is good.
  • A body of short-form video you shot and edited yourself, with links we can watch. This is the first thing we look at.
  • You can make something worth watching out of a supplier asset library, an archive clip, and a good script. Most weeks you will not have new footage.
  • Comfortable and natural on camera. You can carry a five-minute walkthrough without a script.
  • Fluency with the current toolset: Premiere, CapCut, or Final Cut; Canva or Photoshop; and the AI tools you have folded into real work for scripting, captions, voice, and b-roll. Tell us which ones and what you do with them.
  • Hands-on CMS experience, publishing and updating pages without waiting on a developer. Sanity, Storyblok, Contentful, Webflow, or WordPress all count.
  • Writing samples with your name on them.
  • A valid passport, and you can be away for a week at a time on short notice, including some weekends.
  • You know the difference between Regent and Royal Caribbean, and why a client would pay four times as much for one.

Helps, not required

  • You have cruised. More than once.
  • Time inside a cruise line, tour operator, travel agency, hotel group, or travel publisher.
  • Your own photo and video kit. Drone experience is a real plus.
  • SEO fundamentals, enough to write a blog post that ranks.
  • Motion graphics, sound design, or color work.

How to apply

Add links in your resume. A portfolio, a reel, your channel, or a public Drive folder. Include at least three pieces of short-form video you shot and edited yourself, and two writing samples with your byline.

Applications submitted without links to your work will not be considered. A resume alone does not tell us whether you can shoot, so we do not review them.

Benefits

  • Guaranteed free and reduced-rate travel opportunities with an IATAN card, a globally recognized professional credential to access special travel industry perks
  • 3 weeks PTO for new employees, plus additional Sick & Holiday pay
  • Company subsidized medical, dental, vision, plus FSA and HSA plans
  • Company-provided life insurance
  • $2,000 annual 401(k) Company match
