Apply at Ackroyd Lowrie

We’re looking for a Studio and Social Manager to welcome everyone who walks through our door, and to shape how the world sees us online through film, podcasts, social media and events. This is a new role with full training from day one, ideal for someone starting out or with some early experience under their belt, and plenty of room to make it your own.

About us

Ackroyd Lowrie is an award-winning, design-led architecture practice in East London. We take on regeneration and retrofit, the tricky, complex sites others leave alone, and we aim for impact far beyond our size. We listen hard, then put technology, data and AI to work designing cities that are better for the people in them: playful, bold and rooted in nature.

Why join us

  • A creative studio with a lot to say: filming, a podcast and a growing calendar of events
  • Proper training in media, podcasting, video and sound, starting on day one
  • A role at the heart of the studio, working with proactive, curious and creative people

The role

You’ll combine front of house with digital and content work. You’ll report to our Director of Operations and work alongside our Finance Manager. You’ll also line manage our apprentice front of house assistant.

What you’ll do

Content, social and events

  • Support filming and content creation in the studio, from planning shoots to editing and publishing social clips
  • Produce our podcast, from guest coordination and recording to working with editors on release
  • Run and grow our social channels, especially LinkedIn and Instagram, with a regular content calendar
  • Use AI tools sensibly to speed up editing, captioning and scheduling
  • Support our events, such as Breakfast Club and Supper Clubs, from invitations to hosting on the day and follow-up coverage

Front of house and hospitality

  • Make every visitor feel welcome, and meet and greet clients, consultants and guests
  • Manage the front desk, phone and general enquiries
  • Prepare meeting rooms and refreshments
  • Organise the day-to-day work of our apprentice front of house assistant and support their training

Studio operations

  • Be the glue of the studio, making sure all the little things work, alongside the Director of Operations
  • Look after facilities, suppliers, equipment, office stock, purchase orders and simple record keeping
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion, including consent and GDPR when filming people
  • Use AI daily for repetitive tasks, freeing up more time for the creative side of the role

Training and development

  • Media, podcasting, video and sound training
  • Traditional front of house skills
  • Basic financial and administrative training
  • Ongoing support and mentoring from the Director of Operations

What we’re looking for

  • Experience: No previous experience is needed. We welcome people at any stage of their career, whether you've just finished studying or are coming from a different field.
  • Skills: Confident, everyday user of social media, especially LinkedIn and Instagram. Creative, curious, self-motivated, sociable and keen to learn. Knowledge of AI tools is a bonus.
  • Qualifications: None required. Study in media, communications, marketing or design is welcome but not essential.

Key details

  • Location: Ackroyd Lowrie studio, 21–23 Vyner Street, London E2 9DG (office-based)
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am–5:15pm, including a one-hour lunch break
  • Salary: £30k - £32k depending on experience
  • Reports to: Director of Operations
  • Closing date: 6 November 2026
