Storyteller - Kansas City

Harp & Sling is a storytelling-first creative agency that helps brands cut through mediocrity through cinematic video, photography, and strategic storytelling campaigns, serving construction, engineering, architecture, design, nonprofits, and thought leadership. As the team scales its Storytelling Team model, Harp & Sling is hiring a Senior Storyteller, a visual leader who can own projects, lead teams, and deliver excellent work in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end video projects: planning, filming, editing, and delivery; direct interviews, b-roll, and narrative moments
• Lead and manage small production teams on set; run full-day shoots in active, sometimes strenuous environments (jobsites, facilities, events)
• Operate cinema-grade cameras (Canon C70, RED, Blackmagic), manage audio, lighting, and stabilization, and edit using Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients on set and translate creative direction into actionable guidance for the team

Required Skills and Experience

• 3 to 4+ years of professional experience in video production and photography, with a strong portfolio
• Hands-on experience with cinema cameras and professional editing workflows
• Natural leader with experience leading crews or creative teams and high autonomy
• Ability to film full days in physically demanding conditions, including outdoors and on jobsites

Full time, hybrid role; must be based in Kansas City, MO (remote work plus in-person shoots and meetings). Compensation is competitive; exempt, with production-based scheduling of 40 to 50+ hours per week.
