Social Media Manager
We’re Blue Bear, a social media agency based in Denver that helps consumer brands turn social content into real business outcomes, and we’re looking for a Social Media Manager to help us do it.
This is a role for someone who is chronically online. You’re endlessly curious, comfortable in the gray area, and energized by finding ways to accomplish new things for the first time. You treat every account’s growth like it’s personal, because to us, it is.
You’ve grown engaged communities from the ground up. You turn messy numbers into clear insights. You love testing, innovating and learning out loud, and you have a knack for teaching your craft to the people around you. If that sounds like you, read on.
Essential FunctionsCommunity Management
- Lead proactive, off-page community management: find the accounts, creators and conversations where the client’s audience already lives, show up there in the client’s voice with comments people actually want to engage with.
- Run on-page community management every weekday: comments, mentions and DMs answered thoughtfully against the response-time standard in the client’s community management guidelines, with the sensitive stuff escalated.
- Own the fan and partner database: every creator, celebrity, brand and everyday fan who talks about the client, what we did about it, and what happened next.
- Collect UGC for reposting, requesting permission from content owners when needed.
- Spot the fans, partners and creators worth building a relationship with.
Social Engagement and Content
- Own the social presence on your key account, leading engagement, holding the quality bar high, and keeping deliverables on time.
- Own the editorial calendar: scheduling, QA and publishing across TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, including the partner and collab content that comes in from the client’s other agencies and partners.
- Help set social benchmarks and chase the metrics that ladder up to the client’s business objectives.
- Support in the development of editorial and content strategies that pull the right people in and keep them coming back.
- Help create breakthrough original content, produce quick-turn trend pieces yourself when the moment is now, and reshape existing assets so they land natively wherever they live.
- Write the words: captions, hooks, video scripts, in-creative text and hashtags, in the client’s voice, taking feedback without losing the joke.
Reporting, Tracking and Operations
- Keep the trackers current and trustworthy: the comment tracker, the influencer tracker, the UGC permissions log, and the running total of support hours we review every week and report monthly.
- Assist in building out monthly and quarterly reporting, turning performance into insight: what the content did, how audiences behaved, what the off-page work earned, what competitors are up to, and the best-in-class examples worth learning from.
- Collaborate with the Account Strategy team to sharpen insights and shape the narrative of each quarterly report.
- Keep the bar high by following our processes and best practices, trading ideas and learnings, and always looking for ways to make the work better.
- Help your team members grow by sharing what you know, teaching real skills, and giving feedback that makes the work better.
Client Relationships
- Earn client trust by presenting work with confidence, sharing insights before you’re asked, and being the go-to when a question comes up.
- Actively participate in weekly client status calls: what’s planned, what’s live, how it performed, and what we recommend next.
Social Acumen and Thought Leadership
- Stay genuinely in the know on everything social: trending topics, emerging platforms, algorithm shifts, and which comment sections are worth being in this week.
- Spot emerging trends early, bring them to the team, and own the plan for putting our clients right in the middle of them.
- Be a go-to for social best practices, from publishing guidelines to KPI benchmarks to channel growth strategy, inside Blue Bear and with clients.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
- You have receipts: examples of off-page comments or community moments you’ve driven for a social account (other than your own) that earned real engagement, and you can explain why they worked.
- You’ve managed a brand’s comments and DMs at volume and know when to respond, when to escalate, and when to leave it alone.
- You’re a talented writer who can take on different brand tones with ease, you write fast, and you know the difference between witty and trying too hard.
- You manage your time, your details and your priorities well enough to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball. A spreadsheet that’s a week out of date bothers you.
- You roll with the punches and adapt fast when things change.
- You know when to push creative boundaries and when to color inside the lines.
- You carry yourself like a pro with clients and act as a Blue Bear ambassador outside of work.
- You’re a true collaborator who does your best work alongside a team.
- You’re proactive, solution-oriented, dependable and accountable.
- You know your way around social management, listening and measurement tools like Sprout Social and the platforms’ business managers.
- You keep business relationships, personnel matters and proprietary information confidential.
- You’ve got baseline Canva and CapCut chops, and you can cut a quick-turn trend piece on your own when the moment calls for it.
- You’re comfortable in Google Workspace, and you keep a clean spreadsheet.
- Experience with Claude and/or Cowork is a plus, not a requirement.
The Goods
- Salary: $65k – $75k+ Base Salary (Dependent on experience)
- Profit-sharing, generous PTO & benefits package
