Apply at Plank Hardware | B Corp Certified

Role: Social Media & Influencer Manager

Location: London (Hybrid)

Reporting to: Head of Brand

Salary: £40,000

Overview:

We’re a B Corp decorative hardware brand that takes the details seriously — and we’re looking for a Social Media & Influencer Manager who does too.

The Social Media & Influencer Manager owns our organic social presence and influencer programme across the UK and USA. You will turn our products into scroll-stopping, shoppable content that inspires people to style their homes, building brand awareness, a loyal community and measurable sales revenue.

Working closely with the wider marketing, e-commerce and product teams, you will plan and publish content across our channels, build and manage long-term relationships with interiors, design and lifestyle creators, and nurture an engaged community of consumers, interior designers and dealers. You will bring an existing network of influencer contacts in the interiors and homewares space, a sharp eye for design-led content, and a commercial mindset that ties social activity back to traffic, revenue and growth in both markets.

As we continue to expand, particularly in the US market and within B2B audiences, this role will help us increase the pace, quality and cohesion of our social media presence.

The Opportunity:

Plank Hardware is at an exciting stage of growth, with increasing ambition around brand positioning, product launches and international expansion.

This role has been created to:

  • Bring greater structure and consistency to our social communications output
  • Strengthen how we plan, execute and report on content
  • Support larger brand moments (product launches, partnerships, events)
  • Help evolve how we engage both consumer and trade audiences

You’ll work closely with the Head of Brand and Lead Brand Creative to ensure our social media and influencer content feels considered, connected and impactful.

Key Responsibilities

Social Content Planning & Execution

  • Own and manage the UK and USA social media content calendars across platforms; Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube
  • Plan and manage a monthly content calendar aligned to product launches, campaigns, seasonal moments and key retail dates in both markets (e.g. Black Friday, Memorial Day, seasonal sales)
  • Write engaging, on-brand captions and copy that reflects our tone of voice
  • Create, brief and produce high-quality content (Reels, TikToks, carousels, Stories, pins), including in-house shoots, UGC and room-styling content, ensuring brand consistency
  • Stay ahead of interiors, design and platform trends, algorithm changes and new formats, and test new ideas quickly
  • Manage the social content library and asset rights, including permissions for reposted customer and creator content
  • Work with the paid media team or agency to identify top-performing organic content for paid amplification

Community Management

  • Nurture an engaged, loyal community around our brand and turn followers into customers and advocates.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, questions, DMs and mentions across all channels in a timely, on-brand way.
  • Work with the customer service team to handle product queries, complaints and order issues raised on social channels
  • Encourage and curate user-generated content, including customer home makeovers and "before and after" projects
  • Build community initiatives such as giveaways, challenges, hashtag campaigns, Q&As and lives
  • Identify brand advocates and loyal customers who could become ambassadors or creators
  • Requesting usage rights on tagged product content
  • Giving praise to community projects where it’s due. Initiating conversations related to interiors, design and broader cultural events
  • Use social listening to track brand sentiment, competitor activity and customer feedback, and share insights with product and marketing teams
  • Manage reputational issues and escalate where needed

Influencer management

  • Develop and deliver the influencer strategy across gifting, paid partnerships, affiliate and ambassador programmes
  • Identify, recruit and build long-term relationships with interiors, home renovation and design and lifestyle creators
  • Work with the US influencer agency to identify appropriate influencers to support market expansion, balancing reach with brand fit and authenticity
  • Manage the full campaign process: outreach, negotiation, contracts, briefs, product seeding and logistics, content approval and payment
  • Manage the influencer budget (gifting and paid activity) and track spend against return
  • Collaborate with interior designers, stylists and home renovators on co-created content, collaborations and product launches
  • Make sure all partnerships comply with ASA/CAP (UK) and FTC (US) advertising disclosure rules

Co-marketing

  • Build a regular cadence of competitions, giveaways and content creation to raise brand awareness, reach a new audience and grow the Plank Hardware database.
  • Identify likeminded brands, with similar consumer profiles and contact, negotiate and agree terms, signing off any joint creative assets in line with Plank’s brand guidelines.
  • Manage inbound requests, assessing suitability.
  • Ensure all GDPR/data sharing regulations are followed
  • Reporting on activity and results

Reporting and analysis

  • Measure performance, share insight and use data to continually improve results.
  • Set clear KPIs for organic social and influencer activity in each market, such as reach, engagement rate, follower growth, traffic, conversion and revenue
  • Track and report influencer campaign performance, including reach, engagement, affiliate and discount code sales, ROI and cost per acquisition
  • Produce weekly and monthly performance reports, plus post-campaign reviews, with clear recommendations
  • Use platform analytics, Google Analytics and Shopify data to connect social activity to website traffic and DTC sales
  • Benchmark performance against competitors in the interiors and homewares space
  • Manage social media and influencer tools (e.g. scheduling, listening and influencer management platforms)
  • Present insights and results to the Head of Brand and wider business

What We’re Looking For:

Experience and skills:

  • Proven experience in social media and influencer marketing at a direct-to-consumer interiors, homewares, furniture or home improvement brand
  • An established network of influencer and creator contacts in the interiors and home space, ideally in both the UK and US
  • A track record of growing organic channels and delivering influencer campaigns with measurable commercial results
  • Strong content creation skills, including shooting and editing short-form video, and a good eye for design and styling
  • Excellent copywriting and communication skills
  • Confident negotiating deliverables and usage with creators and managing budgets
  • Commercially minded and comfortable with analytics, reporting and turning data into actions
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple campaigns and markets at once
  • Confidence in using AI tools to streamline workflows and optimise outputs.

What Success Looks Like:

  • A clear and consistent content calendar that aligns with brand priorities
  • Stronger engagement and cohesion across social platforms
  • More proactive and structured influencer partnerships
  • Improved visibility of communications activity across the business
  • Well-executed support for product launches and brand campaigns
  • A noticeable uplift in the overall quality and consistency of brand output
