Apply at Business Show MediaSocial Media Executive (Junior)
Bristol Office, Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm
£28,000 per annum
About Business Show Media
Business Show Media organises leading B2B trade shows across the UK, US, Europe, Australia and Asia. Our portfolio includes The Business Show, White & Private Label Expo, IFA World Franchise Show, Retail Supply Chain & Logistics Expo and Smart Retail Tech.
Our social media channels play a key role in driving visitor registrations and exhibitor stand sales. Every post has a purpose, whether that's building awareness, engaging our audience or generating commercial results.
We're looking for a proactive, organised and creative Junior Social Media Executive to join our team at our Bristol office and help manage the day-to-day social media activity across our growing portfolio of international events.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in social media and digital marketing within a fast-paced, commercially focused events business.
You'll take ownership of the day-to-day running of social media across multiple brands and platforms, following an established content calendar and documented processes. You'll create engaging content, build graphics, schedule posts, support video content and monitor performance to help grow our audiences and drive registrations and exhibitor enquiries.
AI is a key part of how we work. You'll use Claude daily to support content creation, campaign planning, design briefs, scheduling and reporting. Full training will be provided, along with access to our established playbook and the tools you need to succeed.
We're looking for someone who is curious about AI, confident with written content, highly organised and able to think critically rather than simply accepting the first answer a tool produces.
Key Responsibilities
We're looking for someone who enjoys creating content, takes pride in getting the details right and wants to understand what makes social media effective.
You don't need to be an expert in every platform or AI tool. What matters most is that you have some practical experience, a willingness to learn, strong organisational skills and the ability to think independently.
If you're excited by social media, interested in AI and ready to take responsibility for content that delivers real business results, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
- Social Media Management: Create and publish content across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X and TikTok for multiple events and brands.
- Content Planning: Follow and maintain our content calendars, ensuring all social media accounts remain active and consistent throughout the year.
- Creative Content: Design engaging graphics and carousels in Canva using approved brand guidelines and templates.
- Copywriting: Write energetic, benefit-led captions that encourage audiences to register for events, engage with content and enquire about exhibiting.
- Event Promotion: Produce exhibitor, speaker, sponsor and partner spotlight posts to showcase the people and businesses involved in our events.
- Scheduling and Publishing: Manage content drafts, scheduling and publishing through Hootsuite, ensuring posts go live accurately and on time.
- Short-Form Video: Assist with editing videos, Reels and other social-first content.
- AI-Assisted Workflows: Use Claude daily to improve efficiency across content drafting, creative briefs, campaign planning and reporting, checking all AI-generated outputs for accuracy, tone and quality before publication.
- Performance Reporting: Monitor social media metrics, track weekly performance and report on what is working and where improvements can be made.
- Growth and Ideas: Suggest practical ways to increase followers, improve engagement, drive visitor registrations and generate exhibitor leads.
- Quality Control: Check captions, links, tracking parameters, tags, hashtags, spelling and brand consistency before content goes live.
- Some hands-on experience with AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT, with a genuine interest in learning how to use them more effectively.
- An understanding of social media marketing, particularly LinkedIn and Instagram.
- Strong written English and excellent attention to detail.
- Confidence using Canva and familiarity with a social media scheduling tool such as Hootsuite.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities and deadlines.
- Good critical-thinking skills, with the confidence to question, review and improve content rather than relying on AI-generated output without checking it.
- A proactive, reliable attitude and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- An understanding that social media is a commercial tool, not just a platform for posting content.
- Basic video editing experience using CapCut or similar tools.
- Experience in events, exhibitions, trade shows or B2B marketing.
- Familiarity with social media analytics and performance reporting.
- An interest in content creation, digital marketing and emerging AI tools.
- £28,000 annual salary.
- Full-time position based at our Bristol office.
- Hands-on training in our AI-assisted social media workflow.
- Access to a Claude subscription and our established Business Show Media playbook.
- Training and access to Canva and Hootsuite subscriptions.
- Exposure to international events, brands and audiences across multiple markets and time zones.
- The opportunity to develop your skills in content creation, video, digital marketing and podcast projects.
- A clear opportunity to build your experience and grow within a commercially focused marketing team.
