ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for an exceptional Social Media Content Strategist to lead content strategy, creative development, production, and distribution for a high-profile entrepreneur, bestselling author, and venture capitalist with an audience of over one million followers.

Our founder has spent more than 20 years building businesses, shaping conversations around entrepreneurship, and investing in emerging companies. Her content spans business, technology, investing, career, culture, and personal storytelling.

We’re looking for someone who combines strong creative instincts with operational excellence—someone who can conceive original ideas, write compelling content, manage production, make creative decisions, and use data to continuously improve performance.

This is a hands-on role with significant creative ownership. You’ll oversee the content process from initial concept through publishing, measurement, and iteration, working closely with the founder, freelance creatives, brand partners, and management.

Deep expertise in short-form vertical video is essential. We’re looking for someone immersed in the world of creator-led, personality-driven content—particularly the “yap” side of Instagram Reels and TikTok. This is not a YouTube strategy role or a traditional in-house brand marketing position. You should live and breathe short-form social, understand its constantly evolving creative language, and know what makes a talking-head video impossible to scroll past.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Content Strategy & Creative Direction

• Own and execute a cross-platform content strategy across Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and emerging channels.

• Conceive original content formats, recurring series, and creative concepts that drive audience growth and engagement.

• Identify trends, cultural conversations, and timely opportunities, translating them into content that feels original and relevant.

• Develop creative briefs, visual references, and editorial direction for videos, carousels, and other formats.

• Make day-to-day creative decisions, maintaining a consistent and recognizable brand voice and aesthetic.

• Continuously test new formats, hooks, storytelling approaches, and distribution strategies.

Writing & Editorial

• Write and refine short-form video scripts, hooks, captions, carousels, and LinkedIn posts.

• Transform voice notes, interviews, existing content, and rough ideas into compelling stories.

• Capture the founder’s distinctive voice, perspective, and sense of humor.

• Adapt content for different platforms while maintaining a cohesive editorial identity.

• Maintain a content calendar and ensure a consistent pipeline of ideas and ready-to-publish assets.

Production & Creative Management

• Manage freelance video editors, designers, and other creative collaborators.

• Brief editors, provide actionable feedback, oversee revisions, and approve deliverables.

• Make creative decisions around pacing, storytelling, graphics, sound, and visual presentation.

• Organize and maintain a searchable library of raw footage, B-roll, photography, brand assets, and finished content.

• Establish efficient production workflows, clear deadlines, and quality-control processes.

• Ensure content moves smoothly from ideation through production and final approval.

Publishing, Distribution & Growth

• Own scheduling, publishing, and distribution across social platforms.

• Optimize posting schedules, captions, thumbnails, hooks, and platform-specific presentation.

• Identify opportunities to repurpose, redistribute, and extend the life of successful content.

• Monitor performance across reach, watch time, retention, engagement, saves, shares, and follower growth.

• Run ongoing creative experiments and use results to inform future content.

• Produce regular performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations.

• Stay ahead of platform changes, emerging formats, and shifts in audience behavior.

Brand Partnerships & Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with brand clients, agencies, and the founder’s management company on sponsored content campaigns.

• Translate campaign briefs into creative concepts that meet commercial objectives while maintaining editorial authenticity.

• Coordinate timelines, deliverables, feedback, approvals, and publishing schedules.

• Manage the creative production process for sponsored content, ensuring contractual requirements and deadlines are met.

• Coordinate revisions and client feedback while protecting creative quality and brand consistency.

• Track campaign deliverables, publishing dates, and performance reporting.

WHO YOU ARE

• You have proven experience developing and executing successful social media strategies for creators, founders, executives, or high-profile personal brands.

• You’re an expert in short-form vertical video, particularly Instagram Reels and TikTok, with a deep understanding of talking-head content, hooks, retention, pacing, and creator-led storytelling.

• You’re deeply embedded in the “yap” world—following the creators, formats, editing styles, and conversations shaping personality-driven social content. Your experience is rooted in creator content, not primarily long-form YouTube or in-house corporate brand accounts.

• You’re an excellent writer with strong storytelling instincts and a talent for creating compelling hooks.

• You understand what makes content perform, particularly short-form video and social-first storytelling.

• You have exceptional creative taste and can confidently direct editors and designers.

• You’re equally comfortable developing big ideas and managing the details required to execute them.

• You’re analytical and understand how to use performance data to improve creative decisions.

• You’re highly organized, proactive, resourceful, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• You have experience coordinating freelancers, external partners, and creative production workflows.

• You’re comfortable communicating professionally with brands, agencies, and commercial partners.

• You’re culturally aware and genuinely interested in entrepreneurship, technology, business, and the creator economy.

• You take ownership, anticipate needs, and don’t require constant direction.

Most importantly, you have excellent judgment. You know the difference between content that simply fills a calendar and content that makes people stop, think, share, and follow.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• A consistent pipeline of high-quality, original content across platforms.

• Measurable improvements in reach, engagement, audience growth, and content performance.

• Successful development of repeatable, recognizable content formats.

• A highly organized, efficient production process with minimal bottlenecks.

• Seamless coordination with editors, brand clients, and management.

• A clear understanding of what’s working, what’s not, and what to test next.

• Greater creative output without requiring constant oversight from the founder.

We’re looking for someone who can think like a strategist, write like a creator, direct like a producer, and execute like an operator.
