About SMACKIN’ -

SMACKIN’ is one of the fastest-growing snack brands in the country. What started with two college roommates selling sunflower seeds has grown into a nationally distributed snack brand with products in more than 30,000 retail locations, a community of more than 1 million followers, and hundreds of millions of views across social media.

Social media has been a major part of how we built SMACKIN’, and we’re looking for a Social Media

Content Creator to help build the next chapter.

This is not a role where you’ll spend your day scheduling posts or managing a content calendar from behind a laptop. We’re looking for someone who can create. Someone who understands what makes people stop scrolling, knows how to turn an idea into a great video, and wants to be responsible for producing content that millions of people could see.

The Role

As a Social Media Content Creator, you’ll be responsible for developing, filming, editing, and publishing content across SMACKIN’s social channels, primarily TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. You’ll work alongside our marketing team, founders, athletes, creators, partners, and employees to turn what is happening inside SMACKIN’ into entertaining, highly shareable content. One day you might be filming a new product launch at our office. The next you might be creating a street interview, shooting with one of our founders, covering a collaboration, testing a new content format, or turning a random idea into the best-performing video of the month.

The goal is simple: Make content people actually want to watch.

Prospective Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000 per year

Travel Requirement: 25%+

What You’ll Do

  • Own the creation of short-form organic content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other emerging platforms
  • Generate and pitch new content ideas, formats, hooks, series, and concepts every week
  • Film content in and around our Minneapolis office
  • Edit short-form videos with a strong understanding of pacing, hooks, storytelling, captions, music, and retention
  • Create content around new product launches, limited-edition drops, collaborations, founders, employees, customers, and SMACKIN’ culture
  • Identify trends and determine how SMACKIN’ can participate without simply copying what everyone else is doing
  • Be comfortable appearing on camera when the concept calls for it
  • Work with our founders and team members to bring personality-driven content to life
  • Collaborate with our marketing and creative teams on major launches and campaigns
  • Review content performance and use the data to improve future creative
  • Constantly test new concepts and double down on formats that work
  • Help evolve SMACKIN’s social voice, content style, and recurring series

What We’re Looking For

We care much more about your ability to make great content than the number of years you’ve worked at a company.

You should:

  • Be deeply familiar with TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and internet culture
  • Understand why some short-form videos get 5,000 views and others get 5 million
  • Have strong instincts around hooks, storytelling, pacing, humor, and entertainment
  • Be comfortable filming with an iPhone or camera
  • Be able to edit short-form content quickly and effectively
  • Have experience with tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar editing software
  • Be comfortable generating ideas instead of waiting for someone to hand you a brief
  • Be willing to experiment, fail, learn, and make something better the next day
  • Have strong creative judgment and attention to detail
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where things change quickly
  • Be collaborative, competitive, curious, and hungry to improve

You’ll Probably Love This Job If…

You repeatedly send your friends TikToks

You constantly notice why certain videos work

You have a Notes app filled with content ideas
