Social Media & Community Manager
About us
At Pencil, we are driving innovation in advertising technology through our state-of-the-art SaaS product, which harnesses Generative AI to redefine content creation. Our mission is to make AI the default in advertising without replacing creative people. To achieve this, we need to make sure that our technology isn’t just in the hands of big brands - we need to try to help small businesses and creative individuals too.
The role
You'll own Pencil's social presence and run our customer community end to end. Social is how the market discovers us. The community is how users go from curious to confident to advocates. You'll connect the two: what happens inside the community becomes content, and content brings new people into the community.
You'll report to the Head of Marketing and work closely with our design, customer success and product teams.
What you'll do
Social strategy and publishing: Own the social calendar across LinkedIn (our primary channel, 4 to 5 posts per week), Instagram, X and YouTube. Plan it, write it, publish it, report on it. Overview our Community Manager's day-to-day taks: scheduling, posting, measuring.
Executive social: Manage LinkedIn content for our CEO and COO: drafting posts in their voice, coordinating approvals and tracking what works.
Community management: Own and run the Pencil community calendar and overview our Learning Community Manager’s day-to-day tasks: welcome new members, spark and moderate discussions, coordinate webinars and product demo sessions.
The flywheel: Turn community wins, member spotlights and webinar moments into social content. Turn social interest into community sign-ups.
Content production: Brief our designers on visuals and video, and give clear, fast feedback so content ships on time and on brand.
Measurement: Track engagement, follower growth, community activity and sign-ups. Report monthly on what's working and what we should change.
Listening and triage: Monitor comments, mentions and DMs across channels, and route product questions or leads to the right people quickly.
What success looks like
First 30 days: you've taken over the social and community calendars with no drop in cadence or quality.
First 90 days: engagement is trending up, the community has a regular events rhythm, and executive social is running on a predictable weekly cycle.
Ongoing: social and community measurably contribute to marketing's pipeline goals through sign-ups, event attendance and inbound interest.
What you'll bring
3+ years in social media, community management or both, ideally in B2B SaaS or marketing technology.
Excellent written English. Short sentences. Clear points. You can write in a brand voice and in an executive's voice, and keep them distinct.
Hands-on experience with LinkedIn as a B2B channel: you know what performs and why.
Experience running an online community (platforms like Gradual, Circle, Slack or Discord) including moderation, programming and member growth.
Comfort with analytics: you form a view from the numbers and act on it.
Organised and self-directed. You manage a multi-channel calendar without being chased.
Nice to have
Familiarity with AI tools for marketing, or genuine curiosity about the space. You'll be posting about it every day.
Experience with HubSpot, Webflow, Figma or basic video editing.
