Apply at Koala®
Koala is a global furniture brand bringing Australian design and innovation to the world. We create forward-thinking products that solve problems for people and homes everywhere, driven by our purpose to make the world a more comfortable place.
We’ve always believed in doing things differently, whether in the way we develop products, how we do people and culture, or the way we bring the brand to life. That mindset has fuelled our growth, helping us disrupt categories in ways that are creative, bold and often unexpected. While we’re a household name in Australia, our journey on the global stage is only just beginning.
Since launching in 2015, our furniture has reached homes across Australia, Japan, the US and the UK. As a B Corp-certified, customer-obsessed, and data-led company, we’re committed to revolutionising furniture for generations to come through design, innovation, and meaningful sustainability.
Role Description
The UK is Koala's most exciting new frontier. We launched in September 2025, which means you have a rare opportunity most social roles never offer: to build a brand's entire social presence from a blank canvas, with your fingerprints on everything. Organic social is how we'll introduce Koala to the UK, spark a genuinely engaged community and turn a brilliant product into cultural momentum.
The Social & Influencer Manager, UK owns our organic social presence end to end across Instagram, Pinterest and TikTok. You'll set the strategy, own the content calendar and cadence, create and source scroll-stopping content, run our community day to day, and build a creator programme powered by our product and the relationships you cultivate. You'll take the best of Koala's award-winning global content and make it feel unmistakably at home in the UK, while creating fresh, culturally sharp work of your own.
This is a role for a strategist, maker and community builder rolled into one. Someone who wants real ownership and the autonomy to make bold calls, not wait for sign-off. You'll be a key player in a close-knit, ambitious UK team, working shoulder to shoulder with UK Growth Lead and the Creative Strategist, and plugged into global Brand, Product and Ops. If you're energised by building something from the ground up, turning a great product into a movement, and seeing your ideas go live the same week you have them, this is the one.
Key Responsibilities
Koala is only great when its employees are happy; and we’re one happy bunch!
At Koala, we do things a little differently and we don’t shy away from the fact that we expect a lot from our employees! We have no ego; we seek feedback that grows us; and we have a strong bias for action. We want you to challenge expectations, always look to make a difference and give us something different from the norm. We want people that bring great energy, that have a long-game focus and are always trying to find new angles and approaches to the way we work. We're a team full of entrepreneurial spirit and have a relentless focus on 'what's next' but while always reviewing 'what's been done' and learning, growing and adapting. Honesty and empathy drive everything we do, as well as a total focus on exceeding our customers’ expectations. So if you feel like this could be you... well what the bloody hell are you waiting for? Drop us a line, and let's see what you've got! ;)
There’s no such thing as a ‘perfect’ candidate, Koala is a place where everyone has opportunity. So however you identify and whatever background you bring with you, please apply if this is a role that would make you excited to come into work every day. We’re an equal opportunity employer, and recognise that a diverse workforce is crucial to our success as a business.

If you're energised by building something from the ground up, turning a great product into a movement, and seeing your ideas go live the same week you have them, this is the one.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and grow Koala's UK organic social presence across Instagram, Pinterest and TikTok. Growing following, engagement and reach from a standing start, and setting the strategy and visual direction for each channel.
- Own the content calendar and posting cadence across all channels, balancing always-on evergreen content with campaign and seasonal moments.
- Working closely with the Global Brand team, localise the brand in the UK, adapt Koala's global content (culture, seasonality, spelling and tone of voice) and create UK-specific reactive content around local and cultural moments.
- Own the social accounts and community management day to day - respond to comments, DMs and mentions within an agreed SLA, build a loyal and engaged audience, and handle pre-sale and CX-adjacent queries in partnership with Customer Care.
- Write platform-native copy and captions that spark conversation and build community, and direct the aesthetic and editorial voice of the channels so Koala shows up consistently and true to the brand.
- Act as brand guardian on social channels, uphold brand voice and guidelines, monitor sentiment, and manage escalations, negative comments and reputation risks calmly and quickly.
- Own the influencer / creator gifting outreach programme end to end - identify, vet, prioritise and manage a pipeline of creators that align with our target audiences
- Own creator briefing and relationships - set creator terms and expectations, manage disclosure (#gifted / #ad) and content usage rights, and turn one-off gifts into a longer-term ambassador community.
- Maximise the impact of every creator partnership - coordinate seeding logistics with Ops and prioritise the placements most likely to drive reach, standout content and conversion.
- Harvest creator content and UGC for reuse across organic and paid, feeding winning assets into whitelisting in partnership with the Creative Strategist and performance team.
- Run social listening and trend-spotting daily. Track brand, competitor and category conversation, and act on relevant trends within hours, not days.
- Own weekly and monthly social reporting. Track growth, engagement and reach across channels, turn the numbers into clear insight for the wider team, and use what you learn to shape what comes next.
- 5+ years managing organic social for a consumer or DTC brand, ideally with UK or European market exposure, and a proven track record of owning channels end to end and growing branded accounts with measurable results.
- Deep, hands-on expertise across Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest - algorithms, formats and best practices - with genuine fluency in short-form vertical video.
- A strong eye for engaging, on-brand content and a proven knack for harnessing trending content and cultural moments to drive reach and engagement - with the confidence to brief and direct creators and freelancers, plus strong platform-native copywriting.
- Experience owning a social function or channel autonomously in a lean team or regional role, comfortable setting strategy and making the call without close oversight, with exposure to global stakeholders across time zones.
- Experience running influencer, creator or gifting/seeding programmes end to end. Sourcing, outreach, briefing and relationship management, with a talent for turning products into genuine partnerships.
- Community management experience with SLA discipline and a real feel for tone, audience and when to lean in.
- A self-starter comfortable building systems and tracking before formal tooling exists, and juggling multiple projects in a fast-moving environment.
