Apply at Nonsensical | The TikTok Agency
Nonsensical is the UK's leading TikTok agency.

We help brands become famous on social. Not by chasing trends, but by building distinctive worlds, formats, and ideas that last.

We're looking for a Social Creative who lives and breathes the internet. Someone who fully understands social media: why a format explodes, why a meme lands, why a social show becomes appointment viewing. You'll work across all of our social channels, with a particular focus on TikTok and Instagram.

This is a hands-on making role. You'll be in the weeds of social every day: inventing formats, writing scripts, spotting the twist that turns a good idea into a repeatable show. You'll know which sounds are trending, which memes are peaking, and which edit techniques make content pop.

If you've got ideas to spare, think in formats rather than one-off posts, and want to make great content for brilliant brands, keep reading.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Invent creative formats and twists: Come up with original, repeatable formats for our clients, and find the fresh angle that makes a familiar mechanic feel brand new.
  • Develop content across clients: Write and build out ideas that are ready to shoot and built for how TikTok and Instagram actually work.
  • Execute creative directions: Take strategic territories and translate them into specific, platform-native content ideas.
  • Be the internet expert in the room: From trending sounds, meme cycles and what’s going on in pop culture, to the latest social show blowing up, you'll bring that knowledge to the team daily.
  • Write scripts and treatments that are ready to produce: Clear, tight, and designed for the platform, whether that's a sketch, a social show episode, or a 15-second ad script
  • Support on production: Occasionally attend shoots, work with creators, hosts and talent, and make sure content lands as intended.
  • Iterate and improve: Use performance data and platform changes to refine what's working and evolve what isn't.
  • Contribute ideas to broader creative development: You'll have a seat at the table, even if you're not leading the strategy.

What We're Looking For

  • Platform-native thinking: You understand what actually works on social: pacing, hooks, sounds, text, edits, and why the same idea lives differently on TikTok versus a different channel.
  • Chronically online, in the best way: You're deep in pop culture, meme culture & internet language. You can spot a trend before it peaks, know when a format is done, and understand why something is funny online this week.
  • A feel for social shows: You get on-the-street and social-first show formats: what makes a host magnetic, why certain segments become series, and how shows build audiences episode after episode.
  • Formats over one-offs: You naturally think in repeatable mechanics and twists rather than individual videos. You'd rather build a world than chase a moment.
  • Ideas and energy: You generate lots of ideas and you're not precious about them. You'd rather test, learn, and improve than overthink.
  • Strong writing skills: Particularly short-form scripts that are ready to produce: tight, clear, and built for the format.
  • Range across audiences: You can write for millennials as confidently as gen z, and adapt your tone accordingly.
  • Some experience in a creative environment: Agency, brand-side, creator economy, social team: you've made content professionally before.
  • Collaborative mindset: You take feedback well, build on others' ideas, and work fast with a team.
  • Proactive attitude: You don't wait around. You spot opportunities, flag ideas, and push work forward.
  • A background in sketch or comedy writing is a big plus: A lot of the best social content is comedy in disguise, and we'd love someone who can bring that thinking: characters, escalation, timing, and the confidence to be silly on purpose.
