THE ROLE


We're looking for a Social Account Manager to join us at The Social Shepherd who's got a genuine passion for Social and is a strong client-facing individual.


You'll be responsible for managing the day-to-day client management, content planning, channel & community management and operations of your account for our clients' social accounts. Sitting between both our Organic Social and Client Services team.


The title could be either Account Manager or Senior Account Manager, depending on experience.


The role is hybrid, with 3 days in our New York office and 2 days WFH.

RESPONSIBILITIES


Client Engagement


  • Act as the primary liaison between clients and the agency, understanding their objectives, challenges, and brand voice.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify emerging trends, content opportunities, and innovative approaches to engage their audience.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on campaign progress, performance metrics, and strategic insights.
  • Proactively address client concerns, provide solutions to challenges, and ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
  • Cultivate strong, long-lasting client relationships built on trust, transparency, and exceptional service delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth and upsell additional services to existing clients.


Content Strategy, Planning and Execution


  • Develop and execute comprehensive content marketing strategies tailored to meet client goals and resonate with target audiences
  • Lead the planning and execution of content marketing campaigns, overseeing all aspects from concept development to final delivery
  • Conduct content audits, market research, and competitor analysis to inform content strategy development and identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Oversee the development of content calendars, editorial plans, and content briefs that align with client objectives, brand guidelines, and audience preferences.
  • Provide strategic guidance on content formats, distribution channels, and messaging strategies to maximize audience engagement and campaign effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with internal creative, production, paid media, and strategy teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of content assets.
  • Monitor performance metrics, analyze data insights, and provide strategic recommendations for optimization and improvement.
  • Lead on all things Channel & Community Management. Scheduling, copywriting, outbound community engagement and more.


Team Collaboration and Project Management


  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing among cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure our project timelines are dialled in, teams are scheduled, and everyone has a high sense of clarity on actions and next steps.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, empowering their professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to refine processes, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement across the agency.
  • Collaborate with the business development team on new business opportunities, providing insights and recommendations to support pitches and proposals.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR


  • Proven experience (3-5+ years) in social media and account management, or a content strategy role within a digital agency, social agency, or advertising environment, with a focus on social media marketing.
  • In-depth understanding of content marketing principles, social media platforms, and digital analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present ideas, communicate campaign performance, and build rapport with clients, with the ability to tailor communications and style to different stakeholders and personality types.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to problem-solving and campaign optimization.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, CRM software, and Google Business / Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certification in content marketing or related areas is a plus.

Compensation Range: $77,000 to $100,000 annually.


This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
