The LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games will unfold in real time on social platforms. The line between athlete and creator has blurred, and the second (and third) screen now plays a critical role in how the Games dominate culture. Billions of fans will experience the Games on social first, a massive opportunity for The Coca-Cola Company to drive value for its brands, bottlers and customers.

The Sr. Director I, Social & Community | LA28 will set the enterprise ambition and operating model for how NAOU drives value during the Olympic and Paralympic Games through social, community and creator-led marketing. Working closely with the wider North America Social community, this leader will drive the LA28 social strategy and execution, elevating social from a channel discipline to a modern growth capability that connects culture, creators, communities, content, commerce and measurement across the full IMX ecosystem. The end date for this role is Dec 31, 2028, due to the closing of the project.

What you will do

  • Vision and social transformation: define a bold, future-forward vision for LA28 social and community that positions social as a strategic growth capability, not only a communications channel.
  • Creator-led way of working: build the strategic framework, operating model and governance for creator-led marketing across core brands activating LA28, including how creators are used across the funnel, when to work with creators versus influencers, how creator briefs are developed and how creator content is activated across paid, owned, earned and commerce environments.
  • Creator strategy, governance and measurement: with the IMX Social Lead, set standards for creator selection, role definition, briefing, content rights, approvals, brand safety, disclosure, measurement and optimization.
  • Community-centric brand building: build and nurture brand communities using human insights, cultural foresight, social listening and audience-first planning.
  • Content excellence and platform fluency: champion fit-for-platform creative for short-form video, creator content, community response and real-time engagement.
  • Social safety and brand protection: support best-in-class social safety protocols, escalation routines and response standards.
  • Cross-functional integration with LA28, IOC, Brand, Creative, Media, Design, Commerce, Legal, Procurement, Consumer Insights, Data, Global EPICS and IMX teams.
  • Measurement, learning and business impact: set KPIs and learning agendas that connect social and creator activity to business outcomes.
  • Real-time: with the Sr Director, Live Experience Amplification (Global EPICS), develop the approach to real-time moments that drive the cultural conversation around the Games.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree a plus.
  • 10-12 years of experience in social media strategy, creator marketing, brand marketing, digital communications or integrated marketing.

  • Ability to define vision, establish decision rights and turn strategy into scalable operating models across brands, functions and agencies.
  • Experience leading agency and external partners. Experience working with third-party rightsholders strongly preferred.

Pay range: $193,000 - $224,000 USD base, plus an annual incentive (reference value 30%). Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
