Senior Content & Social Media Manager
The challenge
Most wealth management content is forgettable: the same stock photography, homogenous content nobody finishes reading, nothing that sets brands apart.
We want to change that.
We're investing heavily in our brand, launching a new website and expanding our presence on LinkedIn and we need a Senior Content & Social Media Manager to own the end-to-end process. From the ideas to the execution. From the team to the results.
Reporting to the Marketing Director, your brief is to make Clearwater the wealth management firm whose content clients and prospects look forward to, engage with, and share.
What you'll own
LinkedIn, the company page and our advisers
• Set the strategy for the Clearwater company page and significantly grow its reach, engagement and influence on new business
• Build and run an adviser content programme so our advisers can post confidently and compliantly. You'll develop their content and help them find their own voice
• Track performance, scale what’s successful and pull the plug on what’s not
The new website and thought leadership
• Lead content for our new website from launch onwards
• Build a regular flow of high-quality, interesting and relevant thought leadership: market commentary, sector insights on the topics our clients and prospects care about
• Turn the expertise of our advisers into content people want to read, watch and share
Every format, every channel
• Copywriting at every length, from a sharp LinkedIn post to a long-form guide
• Video, from short-form social clips to adviser-led explainers and event content
• Newsletters, guides, carousels, infographics, podcasts. If it's the right format for the audience, we want to optimise it
Creative technology
• Stay ahead of the tools and platforms that are changing content, it’s creation and audience engagement
• Find new ways to work faster and better without lowering quality or compliance standards
Quality, compliance and brand
• Be accountable for every piece of content Clearwater publishes
• Work closely with Compliance to make sure everything we publish meets Financial Promotion rules and Consumer Duty, and is clear, fair and not misleading
• Act as guardian to the Clearwater brand and ToV everywhere it appears
Leading the team
• Lead, develop and inspire a small content team
• Manage freelancers and agencies where needed
• Build a culture where people are creative, ship regularly and want to get better
What we're looking for
• Wealth management or financial services experience. You know how advice firms work, who their clients are and what makes financial content land and connect
• A strong creative portfolio. You can show us work you're proud of
• Versatility. You're an excellent writer, created video content, produced webinars - so you're comfortable working across different formats
• Social media expertise (in particular LinkedIn & Meta). You understand how the algorithm, content formats and personal brands work. You’ll be able to demonstrate how you've grown audiences in previous roles
• Curiosity about creative technology. You're experimenting with new tools and formats before most people have heard of them
• A working knowledge of FCA financial promotion rules. You see compliance as part of good content, not an obstacle to it
• People management experience. You've led and developed a team, even a small one, and you care about helping people do their best work
• Ownership. You're comfortable being the person ultimately responsible for content quality and output
• HubSpot and WordPress. You’re familiar with CRM and website environments, building workflows and dynamic content plans. Content is SEO optimised, tagged and formatted correctly for optimum reach and search ability (especially in today’s AI driven SERP)
• Exceptional attention to detail – nothing gets past you from a spelling, grammar and context point of view
Why Clearwater
• Clearwater is one of St James’s Place’s biggest and most successful wealth management practices. With a 20-year track record and nearly 250 people, we have the agility of a start-up but backed and powered by a FTSE100 company.
• A clean slate. A new website and a growing ambition on social mean you'll shape the strategy, not inherit it
• Real influence. You'll report to the Marketing Director and work directly with senior leadership and our advisers
• Room to experiment. We'd rather try something new and learn from it than play it safe and be ignored
• Excellent package including pension, holiday allowance, bonus and professional development budget
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
Clearwater Wealth Management is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from everyone and will make reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process. Just let us know what you need.
