Product & Community Lead
About
&LANA is a creative incubator in New York, working across luxury, hospitality, and culture. Doubles is our own product: a members-only backgammon app.
The game is five thousand years old. The app is not. We're building the version of backgammon that belongs to the people playing it now. We're hiring one person to own it end to end: what gets built next, how it's talked about, where it shows up in the world, and what players say back.
The role
You'll sit between our development partner, our players, and the brand.
Product. Translate creative direction into work our developers can build — specs, priorities, release sequencing, QA before launch. You don't need to write code. You do need to know exactly what a version is for and hold that line through three rounds of scoping.
Community and social. Build the presence — voice, image, story. Backgammon has an audience already: real depth, real players, no obvious digital home. Make Doubles feel like the place they were waiting for, not another app asking for their attention.
Events. Backgammon is a table game before it's a screen game. Nights, tournaments, partnerships. You'll shape the format and make it happen.
Player feedback. Reviews, support requests, bug reports. Triage what matters, route it cleanly to the developers, close the loop with players. Unglamorous but where trust in a product is actually built.
