House Manager and Family Assistant
Sydney Northern Beaches | Full-time | Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
A warm, organised and proactive House Manager & Family Assistant is sought to help a busy family keep their home running smoothly and care for their young children.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, notices what needs doing and is confident balancing household organisation with attentive childcare. The family has a newborn and a five-year-old, and already has cleaners for deep cleaning.
What you’ll do
• Keep a four- to five-bedroom home tidy, organised and running smoothly day to day
• Manage laundry, ironing, wardrobes, cupboards, pantry and household supplies
• Shop for groceries and run household errands
• Coordinate tradespeople, maintenance and household appointments
• Help manage family scheduling and, when required, supervise or collect the five-year-old from school or activities
• Prepare and cook family meals a few days each week
• Provide attentive care for the newborn, including feeding, changing, settling and supervision
• Take initiative and keep track of what needs attention without needing constant direction
The children’s care and safety will come first; household tasks will be planned around their needs.
About you
You’ll bring experience working in a private household, ideally in a House Manager, Family Assistant or comparable role, as well as hands-on experience caring for newborns and young children. Experience limited to cleaning alone is unlikely to be the right fit.
You’ll also have:
• Current first aid and infant CPR certification
• A valid Working With Children Check
• A current driver’s licence and confidence driving with children
• Strong organisation, initiative and attention to detail
• A warm, discreet and trustworthy manner
• Professional references relevant to household work and childcare
A family car will be available for required driving.
The role is based in a private home on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. The family is looking for someone to commence within the next two to four weeks.
To apply, please include your CV and a brief summary of your private household and childcare experience, your availability, salary expectations, and confirmation of your current first aid/infant CPR, Working With Children Check and driver’s licence status.
