Company: MACRO Media

Position: Head of Content

MACRO is an award-winning, integrated media company that elevates underrepresented artists and perspectives and creates premium film, television, and digital content for the global majority.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, MACRO was founded in 2015 by Charles D. King, the visionary leader who broke barriers as the first Black partner at a major Hollywood talent agency. The company operates across multiple platforms and verticals, including film and television development and production, talent representation, streaming platform, and culturally resonant consumer brand marketing. Our film and television work has earned 15 Academy Award nominations and 3 Oscar wins.

With the addition of ALLBLK, a streaming service dedicated to Black film and television, MACRO now connects great storytelling directly with the audiences it is made for.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Head of Content to lead the creative vision for ALLBLK and MACRO Television. You will own what we make, acquire, and develop, set the voice of our content, and be the go-to leader for the agents, managers, producers, talent, and buyers who want to build with us.

At ALLBLK, you will define the programming strategy and editorial identity of the service, curate and shape the slate, and oversee our originals creatively. You will also help shape what the platform becomes next, bringing in creators and a distinct voice that will drive its growth.

At MACRO Television, you will lead our scripted studio: developing, packaging, and selling premium, culturally resonant series to leading networks and platforms.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role in a lean, entrepreneurial company. It suits someone who gets as energized by giving notes on a cut or working through a budget as by setting strategy, and who wants to build something meaningful rather than run an established machine.

What You'll Do

Shape the content strategy and voice

  • Set the programming strategy and editorial identity for ALLBLK, and a distinct creative identity for MACRO Television
  • Build a multi-year content plan that anticipates where audiences, the market, and the platform are heading
  • Discover and champion culturally resonant creators, including emerging and digital-native talent

Lead ALLBLK programming

  • Evaluate outlines, scripts, production budgets, and screeners for ALLBLK originals and acquired titles
  • Identify gaps in the slate and decide how best to fill them: licensing, acquisition, co-production, or originals
  • Use audience, engagement, and performance data to guide decisions on originals, acquisitions, and renewals
  • Own the ALLBLK content plan

Develop, package and sell at MACRO Television

  • Evaluate the existing scripted slate and decide how to move each project forward
  • Build a strong pipeline, package projects with the right talent and partners, and sell them to networks and platforms
  • Own the economics of the studio's television business

Oversee production and structure smart deals

  • Oversee productions from a network and platform perspective, delivering programming that feels premium at disciplined budgets
  • Develop co-productions, creative partnerships and other deal structures that grow our slate while protecting our IP and economics
  • Lead the greenlight process with clear creative and commercial recommendations

Lead and partner

  • Lead and develop a lean, high-performing team
  • Partner closely with operations, licensing and distribution, business affairs and finance
  • Represent ALLBLK and MACRO in the creative community and at industry events

What You Bring

  • 12+ years in television and/or streaming content, including senior leadership in development, programming, or current
  • Strong creative and programming judgment, and a reputation as a clear, constructive notes-giver
  • A deep understanding of Black audiences, culture and storytelling, and a genuine commitment to MACRO's mission
  • A track record of developing, packaging and selling projects to networks and streamers
  • Experience overseeing productions from a network, platform or studio seat across budget levels
  • A solid grasp of content economics, budgets and disciplined slate investment
  • Strong current relationships with buyers, agents, managers, producers and talent, and exposure and understanding of emerging content creators
  • Comfort using audience and performance data to inform creative decisions
  • A forward-thinking, hands-on approach and the energy to thrive in a lean, entrepreneurial environment

Preferred Experience: Streaming, AVOD or FAST experience; co-production and creative deal structuring; acquisitions and library strategy; international exposure; experience leading through business transformation.
