Motion Society helps Content Creators optimize and distribute their videos across social platforms and streaming services. Dedicated to unlocking creators' growth potential, we operate at the forefront of the Creator Economy. We work with creators all over the world, helping them reach millions of viewers on TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube and, increasingly, on OTT and connected-TV platforms.

The Role

We're looking for a freelance Video Editor, fluent in German and English, to produce two kinds of edits:

1. Social edits — short-form, scroll-stopping videos published across social platforms, primarily Snapchat.
2. OTT / connected-TV versions — longer-form episodes and catalogue content re-versioned for streaming platforms, delivered to each platform's technical specs.

A large part of the work involves German-language content and German-speaking audiences: adapting, subtitling and re-versioning videos so they land as if they were made for that market in the first place.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit compelling videos tailored to each social platform, primarily Snapchat.
• Adapt and re-version content for OTT / connected-TV platforms, respecting each platform's specs, durations and formats (vertical, 16:9, ad breaks, safe zones).
• Keep pacing, tone and quality consistent across a creator's full catalogue while adapting to each platform's rules.
• Work with our creators and internal team to improve the appeal and performance of their content.
• Iterate quickly based on performance data : retention and watch-time feedback shape the next batch.

Requirement

• You work as a freelancer and can invoice us (the role is fully remote — anywhere).
• Fluent in German and English.
• Methodical, independent and proactive, with the drive to work alongside a fast-growing team.
• Comfortable navigating social platforms, and motivated by a very data- and results-driven working environment.
• Willing to learn and explore new types of creators and viral trends.
• Solid working knowledge of Premiere Pro (or DaVinci Resolve / Final Cut) and comfortable with subtitling workflows.
• Able to handle volume and hit deadlines with consistent quality.

Nice to have

• Heavy social media user : especially YouTube and TikTok with an eye for spotting viral content.
• Experience creating content or actively managing social media profiles.
• Experience editing or re-versioning for OTT / streaming platforms (Roku, Samsung TV Plus, Pluto TV, Amazon, or similar), or for VOD catalogues.
• Motion design and After Effects skills; familiarity with the wider Adobe suite.
• Experience with sound design, mixing or basic colour grading.
• German and English speaking.
