Apply at MarketScale

MarketScale is looking for experienced freelance video editors who know how to turn raw footage into polished, compelling business stories - and who are curious about AI, modern tools, and better ways to work.

At MarketScale, we call the creators in this role Video Innovation Architects. The title is future-facing, but the work starts with excellent video editing. You will use Adobe Premiere Pro and your judgment around story, pacing, structure, sound, graphics, visual clarity, and brand consistency to create professional B2B video content.

What makes the role different is what happens around the edit. You will have opportunities to use AI intelligently, test emerging tools, improve production workflows, and share discoveries that can make the entire MarketScale production system better.

If you are an editor first and an innovator by instinct, this role was built for you.

About MarketScale

MarketScale produces B2B video content at a scale few companies can match. We work across technology, healthcare, education, industrial, energy, retail, professional AV, business services, and other industries.

Our clients rely on MarketScale to create more content, capture more expertise, tell better stories, and turn their employees, customers, partners, and executives into trusted voices.

That volume requires more than conventional video production. It requires strong editors, modern tools, repeatable workflows, and a production system that gets smarter over time. That is why we created the MarketScale Video Innovation Lab.

The Opportunity

This is flexible, project-based freelance editing backed by an established B2B video production ecosystem.

Qualified creators gain access to available MarketScale video projects. Each piece of content has a defined scope and price based on its production requirements. You can review the available opportunities and claim the work that fits your skills, interests, schedule, and capacity.

MarketScale brings the client demand, platform workflow, production standards, and support environment. You bring the editing craft, creative judgment, reliability, and entrepreneurial drive.

There is no fixed weekly schedule. You can take on more when you have the capacity and less when you do not. Project availability and eligibility can vary based on client demand, project requirements, qualifications, and creator performance.

The Role

A Freelance Video Editor in the MarketScale Video Innovation Lab - also known as a Video Innovation Architect - is an editor who combines strong video craft with curiosity about AI-assisted workflows and better production systems.

Your first responsibility is to create excellent videos for MarketScale clients. You are not expected to be an AI engineer, software developer, or workflow consultant. You are expected to be a capable editor who is willing to learn, experiment responsibly, and communicate what works.

Each project is an opportunity to deliver strong work for a client and, when possible, improve the way future videos are made.

What You'll Do

  • Edit polished B2B video content using Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Shape story, structure, pacing, sound, graphics, captions, visual clarity, and brand consistency.
  • Review available project opportunities and claim work that matches your qualifications and capacity.
  • Follow project briefs, brand standards, deadlines, communication expectations, and revision requirements.
  • Use approved AI and modern production tools when they improve quality, speed, consistency, or scale.
  • Explore workflows involving transcript-driven editing, captioning, translation, audio enhancement, clip extraction, repurposing, visual cleanup, motion templates, prompt-assisted creation, and other emerging video technologies.
  • Identify what worked, what did not, what saved time, and what improved the final product.
  • Provide lightweight feedback that helps MarketScale improve tools, workflows, standards, and training.
  • Help us make the next thousand videos better than the last thousand.

The Kind of Content You'll Edit

  • Customer stories and testimonials
  • Executive thought leadership and expert interviews
  • Product and solution videos
  • Event, webinar, and conference content
  • Podcasts and video series
  • Social clips and short-form content
  • Repurposed and versioned content
  • Other forms of professional B2B storytelling

What Makes This Different

Most freelance editing opportunities ask one primary question: Can you complete the assignment?

That still matters here. We need editors who can follow a brief, deliver on time, respond professionally, and produce consistently strong work.

But the MarketScale Video Innovation Lab goes one step further. We also want to know:

  • Can you find a better way?
  • Can you use AI responsibly without sacrificing creative judgment?
  • Can you test a new tool or workflow and explain whether it actually helped?
  • Can what you learn make the larger production system smarter?

The best people in this role are excellent editors who also improve the machine.

Who This Is For

This opportunity is for an editor who is:

  • Strong in the fundamentals of editing and business storytelling
  • Curious, fast-moving, and interested in the future of video
  • Comfortable learning new tools without chasing every trend
  • Motivated by a high-volume, high-learning environment
  • Reliable, responsive, organized, and realistic about capacity
  • Interested in controlling when and how much freelance work to take on
  • Excited to build a reputation through quality, speed, range, and consistency
  • Willing to share useful discoveries instead of keeping better methods to themselves

The wrong person for this role says, 'Just tell me what to make.'

The right person says, 'I made what the client needed - and I found a better way to do it.'

What We're Looking For

  • At least two years of professional video editing experience
  • At least two years of experience using Adobe Premiere Pro
  • A portfolio or reel that demonstrates strong editing and storytelling judgment
  • Good instincts around story, pacing, structure, sound, graphics, visual clarity, and brand consistency
  • Comfort with modern production technology and openness to AI-assisted workflows
  • Ability to follow a brief while making thoughtful creative decisions
  • Ability to test, compare, and improve production processes
  • Ability to communicate what worked, what did not, and where a workflow could improve
  • Reliability, speed, responsiveness, and attention to detail
  • Interest in B2B content and professional business storytelling

How the Project Marketplace Works

  • See the opportunity. Qualified creators can view eligible, available projects in the MarketScale production environment.
  • Understand the work. Each project includes a defined price, scope, requirements, and deadline.
  • Choose what fits. Claim projects based on your skills, interests, schedule, and available capacity.
  • Create and deliver. Complete the work to MarketScale's quality, communication, brand, and timing standards.
  • Build your reputation. Consistent quality, reliability, responsiveness, and expanding capabilities can position you for more opportunities over time.

The Lab Mindset

The MarketScale Video Innovation Lab is built on a simple idea: the future of video production will be created by editors who combine human judgment, business storytelling, modern tools, AI, experimentation, and systems thinking.

The goal is not to use AI for the sake of using AI. The goal is to use the right tools in the right places to create better work, faster.

You are an editor first. The lab gives you room to become more.

Role Structure

This is an independent contractor opportunity with flexible, project-based work. It is not a salaried position and does not include a fixed weekly schedule or guaranteed project volume.

Qualified creators can review eligible, available projects and decide what to claim. Pricing is established for each piece of content based on defined project factors. You manage your own working time while meeting the requirements, communication expectations, deadlines, and quality standards of the projects you accept.

MarketScale provides client opportunities, production standards, platform workflows, onboarding, training, and an innovation environment focused on modern video creation.

Why Join

  • Access real B2B video projects across a wide range of industries and formats.
  • Choose work that fits your strengths, schedule, interests, and capacity.
  • Review project scope and pricing before deciding whether to claim an opportunity.
  • Spend less time sourcing every client and more time doing creative production work.
  • Keep the flexibility of independent work while operating inside an established production ecosystem.
  • Build your reputation project by project.
  • Gain exposure to AI-assisted tools, emerging workflows, and production systems built for scale.
  • Expand your editing range across industries, audiences, and content formats.
  • Help shape what modern video work looks like next.

How to Apply

Send us your portfolio, reel, or examples of recent work. We want to see projects that demonstrate your editing fundamentals, storytelling ability, range, and judgment.

If you have used AI-assisted or high-efficiency workflows, tell us about them. What did you test? What improved? What did not work? What did you learn?

If you are the kind of editor who creates strong work, delivers reliably, and keeps looking for a better way to make the next video, we want to meet you.

Our Process

  • A video call with our team so we can learn about your editing background, portfolio, and how you like to work
  • A test edit to better understand your storytelling style, technical skills, speed, and creative approach
  • Onboarding and training for MarketScale's platform, workflow, tools, quality standards, and project expectations

Bring your reel. Bring your curiosity. Build on your terms.
