Community & Brand Manager

Salary: £50,000 to £65,000 (dependent on experience) + Performance Bonus

Location: Remote (UK based)

Role: Build and lead the Elavate community across every place our customers spend time - our private Facebook Group, Instagram, wider social, and brand events - and create the kind of content that makes women genuinely love Elavate.

About Elavate

Elavate launched in early 2024 with a simple goal: help women achieve their skin goals with science-backed Collagen.

Since then we've grown to over 100,000 subscribers, and we're becoming one of the most recognised Collagen brands in the UK.

Elavate was born after our Founder, Alex Philip, had enough of buying overpriced, low quality and foul tasting Collagen supplements for his mother. He set out to make a Collagen product that actually worked, tasted great and was affordable.

Up to now, most of our growth has come from performance advertising. This role exists because we want to build something that ads can't buy: a brand women feel real affection for, and a community they want to be part of.

What This Role Is Really About

We want women to love Elavate.

That sounds soft, but it's a commercial goal. Collagen only works if you take it consistently for months, so retention is everything for us. The brands that keep customers for years aren't the ones with the best ads. They're the ones customers feel connected to, and that connection comes from community, from content that's worth watching on its own merits, and from a brand that feels like quality rather than a supplement being sold at you.

Your job is to build that. Practically, it means three things:

1. Community. Our private Facebook Group is a big part of this and you'll own it - launching it, growing it, moderating it, and making it somewhere thousands of women in their 40s, 50s and 60s show up regularly to share progress, ask questions and support each other. But community isn't only the group. It's the comments section on Instagram, the DMs, the replies, our most loyal customers, and eventually in-person and brand events where our customers actually meet us and each other. You'll build community wherever our audience already is.

2. Organic social and brand content. You'll own our organic presence, primarily Instagram and potentially TikTok. The bar is content that stands on its own - genuinely useful, genuinely entertaining, and unmistakably Elavate. This is not repurposed ad creative.

3. Influencer and creator content. We work with a strong roster of talent. Right now most of that content is built for paid. You'll lead the brand-building side of it: content made to make people like us, not just to convert on the first watch.

Core Responsibilities

Own and grow the private Facebook Group. Set the tone and rules, seed the right conversations, and run a rhythm of check-ins, challenges, Q&As and member spotlights that give people a reason to come back. Build the routes into the group from post-purchase flows, packaging, email and social.

Build community on Instagram and wider social. Reply, engage, and be visibly present every day. Our audience notices when a brand actually talks back, and it's one of the cheapest things we can do to build loyalty.

Own the organic content calendar across Instagram and other channels, balancing education (how collagen works, realistic timelines, how to stay consistent) with content people want to share.

Lead brand-building content with our influencers and creators, working alongside our influencer team to produce content that makes Elavate feel like the quality choice in the category.

Plan and run brand events. Meet-ups, member events, partnership moments and anything else that gets our customers in a room with us. You'll shape what this looks like from scratch.

Recruit and develop community champions. Turn your most engaged members into moderators, advocates and content contributors so the community can scale beyond one person.

Use the community to protect retention. Work with our retention and CX team to understand why women stop taking Collagen, then solve those reasons inside the community: consistency, expectation setting on results, flavour fatigue, and feeling unsupported.

Feed insight back into the business. The community is our best source of customer language, objections and success stories. Share those with our creative, email and product teams.

Note: this role doesn't require you to be on camera. It's a strategy, community and content leadership position, and you'll have budget to bring in creators for on-camera work.

Success Metrics

  • Growth and health of the Facebook Group: members, active members, and how much conversation happens member-to-member rather than brand-to-member

  • Retention and repeat purchase rate among community members compared to non-members

  • Organic reach, engagement and follower growth month over month

  • Quality and volume of brand content shipped with creators and influencers

  • Attendance and response to brand events

  • Brand sentiment: what customers say about us unprompted, in reviews, comments and surveys

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years in community management, organic social, or brand content, ideally in D2C health, wellness or beauty

  • Hands-on experience running a branded Facebook Group or comparable owned community (Discord, Circle, Skool, forum). If you haven't run one at scale, show us a community you've grown somewhere else

  • Strong creative direction and content production skills, with taste for content that feels like a brand rather than an ad

  • Genuine empathy for our audience. Our customers are women aged 40 to 65 navigating perimenopause and menopause, and they can tell instantly when they're being marketed at rather than talked to

  • Comfortable with numbers. You should be able to explain what your community work did for retention, not just for engagement

  • Experience managing content budgets and working with creators

  • Understanding of subscription businesses and what keeps customers around

Benefits

  • Up to £5,000 annual learning and development budget

  • Fully remote working

  • Laptop and home office setup

  • Vitality Private Health Insurance

  • Budget to hire creators and run events

  • Direct access to the Founder

  • Free Elavate products monthly
