Creative Strategist
About the Role
Gassed is a UGC creative agency helping DTC and consumer brands scale paid social performance through creator-led content. We're hiring a Creative Strategist to own creative strategy for a dedicated portfolio of client accounts — setting the strategic direction, writing the briefs that guide production, and reporting on performance directly to clients.
This is a strategy and relationship role, not a hands-on production role. You won't source talent or edit footage yourself — you'll drive the creative direction, write the brief, and partner with our production and editing teams to make sure it comes to life on schedule.
What You'll Do
Own Creative Strategy for Your Accounts
- Serve as the lead creative strategist for a portfolio of client accounts, owning the strategic direction for each.
- Translate each client's business goals and performance data into clear, DTC-informed creative strategies and testing priorities.
- Write creative briefs including hooks, angles, messaging, and format direction grounded in direct-response and DTC best practices.
- Stay current on top-performing paid social trends, hooks, and formats across Meta, TikTok, and other channels to keep briefs sharp.
Manage Delivery With Production & Editing
- Partner with the production and editing teams to keep every deliverable on your accounts on schedule and on brief.
- Act as the strategic point of accountability for your accounts' creative output — you don't source talent or edit assets yourself, but you make sure what ships matches the strategy.
- Flag and troubleshoot delivery risks early, working cross-functionally to keep timelines intact.
Drive Performance & Client Strategy
- Host monthly client calls to walk through creative performance, share learnings, and align on what's next.
- Analyze creative-level performance (CTR, hook rate, CPA, ROAS, and related KPIs) to identify what's working and why.
- Use performance data and client feedback from those calls to directly shape the next round of briefs and strategy.
- Build a point of view on each account that goes beyond reporting — come to every call with a recommendation, not just a readout.
What You Bring
Required
- 2 years experience in creative strategy, ideally within a performance creative or DTC-focused agency.
- Strong working knowledge of DTC and direct-response marketing principles.
- Proven ability to write clear, production-ready creative briefs: hooks, scripts, messaging frameworks, and format direction.
- Working proficiency with Meta Ads Manager (and comfort with other paid social platforms) to read creative-level performance.
- Ability to interpret and act on performance metrics such as CTR, CPA, ROAS, hook rate, and conversion performance.
- Confident client-facing communicator, comfortable leading monthly performance and strategy calls.
- Strong cross-functional collaborator — experience working closely with production and editing teams to get briefs executed well.
- Ability to manage strategy across 5+ client accounts simultaneously in a fast-paced agency environment.
Preferred
- Category experience in DTC/consumer verticals such as personal care, CPG, telehealth, or pet services.
- Experience specifically with UGC ad formats and creator-led content strategy.
What Success Looks Like
- Briefs that consistently translate into high-performing creative.
- Deliverables hit their deadlines across every account in your portfolio.
- Clients leave monthly calls with a clear view of performance and confidence in what's next.
- A testing and learning loop that visibly sharpens strategy month over month.
