We’re looking for an experienced Copy Lead to strengthen the creative thinking and writing quality across the team. This role combines hands-on writing with mentorship and creative guidance, with a strong focus on pushing the team towards sharper, more original and insight-led work.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Set and maintain a strong creative and writing quality bar across the team’s work.
  • Provide first-level copy guidance and feedback, helping teams sharpen their ideas, thinking and writing before work moves forward for review.
  • Push the team beyond generic, formulaic or overly AI-dependent writing, encouraging more original, culturally relevant and insight-led thinking. This will be a key part of the role.
  • Help teams prepare for brainstorms, creative reviews and presentations.
  • Remain hands-on as a writer, particularly on important briefs, campaigns and pitches.
  • Collaborate closely with Art, Design, Strategy, Account Management and other teams to develop integrated creative solutions.
  • Mentor and support copywriters in improving their conceptual thinking, writing craft and ability to turn insights into ideas.
  • Review and refine work to ensure it is clear, relevant, distinctive and creatively sharp across formats.

Qualifications

  • 7–9 years of agency experience, primarily in a copy/creative function.
  • Strong experience across social, digital, mainline advertising, campaigns and scripting.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating both conceptual thinking and executional writing across multiple formats.
  • Someone who can identify generic thinking and knows how to push ideas towards stronger, more original thoughts.
  • Strong understanding of how copy and visual ideas come together to create integrated campaigns.
  • Experience working on pitches and high-priority briefs.
  • Ability to give constructive feedback and elevate the work of other writers while remaining hands-on.
  • Strong communication, presentation and collaboration skills.

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • You’re not just a strong writer, you can make other writers better.
  • You have a sharp instinct for insight, originality and cultural relevance.
  • You know how to challenge the obvious and push ideas further.
  • You can comfortably switch between mentoring the team and writing the big idea yourself.

If you believe a great copy starts with great thinking, we’d love to hear from you.
