Midland Heart

Apply at Midland Heart
Every Story Shapes How Midland Heart Is Understood.

As our Content Creator, you'll play a key role in shaping that understanding. Working across our communities, you'll meet tenants, colleagues and partners, uncovering the stories, issues and successes that best showcase who we are, what we do and the difference we make.

Working as part of our External Affairs team, you'll combine creativity with strong editorial judgement to identify the stories that will have the greatest impact. Whether it's a tenant success story, a community initiative or a development milestone, you'll know not only how to tell a compelling story, but where and when to tell it to achieve maximum reach and influence.

From photography and video to social media, news stories and campaigns, you'll create content that builds trust, strengthens our reputation, supports our employer brand and helps people better understand Midland Heart. Every piece of content will contribute to a clear, consistent narrative about our organisation and the value we bring to the communities we serve.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Creating compelling photography and video content for tenant stories, news, announcements, partnerships, events and corporate milestones.
  • Listening to tenants and colleagues to spot story opportunities and emerging trends, capturing quotes, interviews and written content to use across press, digital and corporate channels.
  • Developing, launching and managing our expanded social media presence, including LinkedIn, alongside content for our app and website.
  • Working with the External Communications Manager to turn PR priorities into content that supports our wider communications objectives.
  • Acting as a custodian of our brand, advising colleagues on tone and quality, and working with designers, suppliers and internal teams to keep standards high.

Our ideal candidate? Please upload a copy of your CV alongside a portfolio of your work (instead of a cover letter) in order to be considered for this role. We're more than happy for you to provide URL links to any content you want to be seen as part of your application. These will demonstrate the following:

  • Hands-on experience in content creation across photography, videography and digital storytelling, including using professional equipment in live or fast-paced environments.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of digital content trends, news and current affairs, with an understanding of how different channels support our objectives.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, work to deadlines and stay within brand guidelines.
  • A sound understanding of GDPR and consent, particularly when filming and photographing tenants and communities.
  • Relevant training or qualifications in media, digital, communications or a related field, and experience working in or closely with communications, PR or corporate affairs teams.

Please note: We are unable to consider applications which don't include a portfolio of work in place of a cover letter.

Who are Midland Heart? We're one team working together for our tenants. A large, ambitious housing organisation providing people with an affordable place to call home. We value people from all walks of life and strive to create an inclusive environment where you can grow your career and make an impact. We expect a lot from our people, but in return, you'll find a supportive and rewarding workplace where great people thrive.
