Content & Communications Manager
About the role
We are looking for an exceptional writer and strategic communicator to own the content and editorial direction of our international architectural design studio. You will identify compelling stories, plan and deliver communications, and elevate the visibility of our projects, design thinking and people. The role combines industry knowledge, strategy and hands-on writing, editing and publishing - not simply social media scheduling.
Key responsibilities
• Content strategy: define priorities, audiences, themes, tone of voice and an actionable editorial plan aligned with the studio’s goals and Dar/Sidara brand direction. • Editorial calendar: own the integrated schedule for articles, project launches, team stories, awards, events and social media activity.
• Writing and editing: research, interview, write and edit articles, project narratives, thought-leadership pieces, announcements, profiles and social posts.
• Social channels: plan, draft, publish and optimise platform-appropriate content, especially for LinkedIn and Instagram, with the creative designer.
• Publications and PR: develop relationships with architecture, art and design publications; coordinate submissions, interviews and press materials with editors and corporate marketing.
• Stakeholder coordination: work directly with design teams and leadership to collect accurate information, secure approvals and meet deadlines.
• Measurement: track content performance, audience engagement, publication coverage and opportunities; use insights to refine the strategy.
• AI and workflows: explore responsible AI-assisted research, transcription and drafting, with rigorous editorial review, attribution and confidentiality.
Experience and skills
• Professional background: Extensive years in editorial, communications, content strategy, specialist PR or brand storytelling, supported by strong published writing samples.
• Exceptional English: clear, engaging English writing and editing, with the ability to adapt tone for professional, design and public audiences.
• Strategic and practical: experience building editorial calendars and campaigns while personally delivering polished copy and managing publishing workflows.
• Industry knowledge: demonstrable knowledge of the architecture and contemporary art industries, including key practices, institutions, publications and cultural debates; ability to communicate complex ideas accurately.
• Digital judgement: strong understanding of social media, web publishing, editorial analytics and content effectiveness, beyond vanity metrics.
• Ways of working: proactive, confident with senior stakeholders, meticulous with facts and comfortable managing multiple contributors and approvals.
