Success in this role requires equal parts commercial instinct, strategic thinking, and relationship leadership. You'll work across industries and client categories, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes while staying at the forefront of the rapidly evolving Creator Economy. If you're energized by growing businesses, solving complex client challenges, and helping global brands unlock the power of creators, we'd love to meet you.
Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Own and grow Whalar's leading alcohol-sector AOR account, delivering ambitious revenue and profitability targets while identifying new commercial opportunities across our full product offering to drive long-term account growth.
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, serving as a strategic advisor who champions the Creator Economy through thought leadership, industry insights, client presentations, and strategic conversations while strengthening Whalar's position as the market leader in creator marketing.
- Partner with the Co-Heads of Client Accounts and New Business team to onboard new clients and ensure a seamless client experience from day one.
- Lead the development of innovative creator marketing strategies that deliver measurable business results and differentiate Whalar in the market.
- Own pipeline management, forecasting, and commercial planning, ensuring strong forecasting accuracy and healthy portfolio performance.
- Collaborate closely with Client Services, Business Affairs, Community, Finance, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional client work while maintaining operational excellence.
- Host and create bi-annual events with your key clients that showcase the latest innovations and thought leadership within the Creator Economy, working with internal teams from a variety of disciplines to plan alongside your lead client contact.
- Mentor and inspire internal teams, fostering a collaborative, commercially-minded culture focused on delivering outstanding client outcomes.
- Successfully collaborate with the agency partners of our key account partners across a range of disciplines including: Creative, PR, Culture, Social and Shopper to ensure integrated and aligned brand planning.
- Partner with your key account’s wider measurement partners including Traackr and Gain Theory for quarterly measurement tracking ensuring data is inputted and findings and learnings are regularly reported back to the client, to enable constant optimization of the work.
Having a mindset to create award winning work with internal and external teams, partnering with internal Awards lead to co-own award submissions across AOR accounts.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- 10+ years of experience in client leadership, account management, partnerships, or commercial roles within marketing, media, advertising, or the creator economy.
- A proven track record of growing strategic client relationships while consistently delivering against revenue and commercial targets.
- Previous experience of continually growing a portfolio AOR account.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing forecasts, pipelines, profitability, and complex client portfolios.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and become a trusted business partner.
- Strategic thinker who can connect client challenges to innovative creator-led marketing solutions.
- Confident communicator and presenter, comfortable leading executive conversations, workshops, and industry discussions.
- Passion for the Creator Economy, social media, digital culture, and emerging marketing trends.
- A collaborative leader who thrives in cross-functional environments and enjoys developing high-performing teams.
- Adaptable, curious, and comfortable navigating changing priorities across multiple industries and client categories.
