Account Director, Influencer Partnerships

Overview

Spark Media is a Los Angeles based creator management and influencer marketing agency. We're hiring an Account Director to own our brand partnerships book end to end and lead the coordination team that executes our campaigns.

You'll be the senior point of contact for our brand clients, run influencer campaigns from brief through final report, and build the systems that let a small team deliver at a high level. This is a player-coach role: you'll carry key accounts yourself while delegating day-to-day execution to your coordinators.

The ideal candidate has run influencer campaigns at an agency, has managed junior staff, and is comfortable owning a full client roster in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Client and Account Leadership
  • Own a roster of brand accounts and concurrent campaigns as the senior point of contact
  • Lead client communication across Slack, email, calls, and meetings with fast, clear responses
  • Translate brand goals and KPIs into campaign strategies and clear internal briefs
  • Manage client expectations on timelines, deliverables, approvals, and results
  • Drive retention, renewals, and scope expansion across existing accounts

Campaign Management
  • Run influencer campaigns end to end: brief, creator selection, contracting, content review, go-live, and reporting
  • Source and vet creators that fit brand goals, audience, and budget
  • Negotiate creator rates, deliverables, usage rights, exclusivity, and whitelisting terms
  • Manage content approval rounds between creators and brands
  • Ensure FTC disclosure and brand safety compliance on every campaign
  • Deliver campaign recaps with performance data and recommendations for next activations

Team Leadership
  • Manage and develop a team of campaign coordinators, including remote team members
  • Delegate day-to-day execution and quality-check coordinator output before it reaches clients
  • Run weekly team check-ins and keep workloads balanced across accounts
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews for the coordinator team

Operations and Commercial Ownership
  • Own campaign budgets and margins; coordinate creator payments and client invoicing with finance
  • Build and maintain campaign SOPs, templates, and tracking in our project management tools
  • Surface risks, blockers, and scope changes to leadership early
  • Provide visibility into upcoming work to support forecasting and resourcing

Qualifications
  • 5 to 8 years in influencer marketing, brand partnerships, or talent management, ideally agency side
  • 2+ years directly managing junior staff or coordinators
  • Proven track record running multiple brand campaigns and client relationships at once
  • Hands-on experience negotiating creator deals, including usage rights and exclusivity
  • Strong grasp of short-form and platform-native content on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Comfort with platform analytics and building performance reports
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, especially in Slack-first, fast-moving teams
  • Highly organized, proactive, and accountable
  • Based in Los Angeles and available in person as needed

Nice to Have
  • Existing relationships with brands and creators
  • Experience managing remote or offshore team members
  • Experience at a bootstrapped or fast-growth agency

Why This Role

You'll own Spark's brand partnerships book and the team behind it, reporting to the VP of Partnerships. It's a high-ownership seat for someone who wants real authority over client relationships, campaign quality, and how the team operates, with room to grow as the business does.
