Podcast Movement and Sounds Profitable added Maya Hawke and Andy Grammer to the talent roster for Podcast Movement Evolutions at SXSW, expanding a lineup that includes MrBallen and live podcast recordings across multiple shows.
Hawke will appear as a special guest for a live recording of the Broken Record podcast on March 13-15 at SkyBox in downtown Austin. Grammer will headline an evening showcase by Companion Podcasts on Saturday, March 14, performing an acoustic set alongside other programming.
The additions build on previously announced talent, including MrBallen, host of “The MrBallen Podcast: Strange, Dark & Mysterious Stories”; Emmy-nominated Kensington Tallman; Allison Dunbar; and Shaan Sharma.
Event Structure and Programming
Podcast Movement Evolutions marks the podcasting business’s first formal integration within SXSW programming. The three-day event positions podcasting alongside film, music, television, and creator-driven media at one of the industry’s major gatherings.
“We’ve built Podcast Movement Evolutions at SXSW to bring together creators, platforms, and audiences in the same room, at the exact moment audio is colliding with every other form of media,” said Bryan Barletta, President of Podcast Movement and Partner at Sounds Profitable. “This lineup is a testament to the way that podcasting is culture, entertainment, and business today.”
The event includes a Discovery Track featuring 10-minute spotlight talks, followed by 50-minute sponsored panel sessions. Day themes include “The Power of the Medium,” “The Creative Engine,” and “The Future of Attention,” with speakers from Acast, Audible, Spotify, and WaitWhat.
Friday evening will feature a Red Seat Ventures-sponsored cocktail hour where SVP of Sales Jeremy Price and VP of Business Development Chris Peterson will discuss building and monetizing creator-led media businesses with Audiochuck CEO Matt Starker.
Sponsors include Acast, Amazon Music, Airwave Media, Magellan AI, Oxford Road, ART19, Audacy, ESPN, NPR, and the Locked On Podcast Network.
The event follows Podcast Movement’s August 2025 acquisition of Sounds Profitable in a seven-figure deal.
