Podpage, a podcast website platform, has acquired the School of Podcasting, a podcasting education membership founded in 2005 by Dave Jackson. The acquisition folds the educational platform into Podpage’s existing offerings and expands access through a new free membership tier.

Under the new structure, free members will receive access to the School of Podcasting community, select live events, and a curated set of courses, including the upcoming How to Podcast course and the full Learn Podpage course. Paid members retain access to the complete course catalog, all community events, and one-on-one coaching with Jackson and his team.

Existing Podpage subscribers will automatically receive a discount on a paid School of Podcasting membership.

Curriculum Overhaul Planned

Podpage says it will rebuild the School of Podcasting course catalog, restructuring it into focused tracks targeting podcasters at different stages, from beginners to experienced creators pursuing growth or monetization. The company also plans to bring in guest instructors to teach courses in specialized areas.

Jackson joined Podpage as Head of Podcasting in 2024, continuing to operate the School of Podcasting separately. Podpage CEO Brenden Mulligan said the arrangement proved difficult in practice.

“The more we worked alongside Dave, the clearer it became that SoP was too good to stay on the back burner,” Mulligan said in the announcement.

Community Consolidation

As part of the acquisition, Podpage is merging its existing community initiatives into the School of Podcasting platform, creating a single hub for education, events, and networking. The company noted that its February Town Hall had already been hosted on the School of Podcasting platform.

Mulligan and Jackson are scheduled to host a live Town Hall on March 18 to address questions about the acquisition and next steps.
