Meta has launched Graph API v23.0 and Marketing API v23.0, introducing updates for creators and advertisers. These updates include new tools for revenue tracking and campaign management.
For creators, Meta has unveiled two new metrics: “content_monetization_earnings” and “monetization_approximate_earnings.” These tools allow creators to monitor earnings at both page and post levels over customizable time periods.
The “content_monetization_earnings” metric displays revenue generated from qualified views on eligible public videos, plays on eligible reels, views on eligible stories, and engagement on other eligible public posts. For page-level earnings, Meta provides additional breakdowns by content type.
The “monetization_approximate_earnings” metric offers creators visibility into earnings across revenue sources, excluding Bonuses. Meta notes that actual payouts may differ due to pending reviews, content ownership claims, or other adjustments.
The tech company has increased daily budget flexibility from 25% to 75% for some Ads Manager accounts. This change enables the allocation of up to 75% of daily budgets on days with better opportunities and less on others, while maintaining weekly spend limits at seven times the daily budget.
The update also introduces the Advantage+ Campaign Experience for sales and app objectives. Instead of choosing between Advantage+ shopping campaigns and manual campaigns, advertisers can now leverage Advantage+ performance features while maintaining access to the complete range of ad features for specific business goals.
Additional Platform Updates
Meta has added a new “videos” field to the Catalog’s Product Item Graph API, enabling advertisers to view properties of videos added to product items. This improvement enables advertisers to verify that Meta has correctly received and processed uploaded videos before using them in ads.
The company has also introduced Version 3 for Embedded Signup, aligning with Graph API versioning, and updated error codes for Cloud API and MM Lite endpoints to provide more actionable and specific information for troubleshooting.
